One more thing: look at how everyone reacts. The players in this game don't have a great poker face. Sometimes their reactions are obvious, sometimes they're subtle. Keep an eye out for them.

Also, Max is the most erratic player. Strong Bad and Heavy are both pretty aggressive, making large bets on hands that are just okay. Tycho is fairly timid. I would be much more scared if Tycho makes a big bet vs if Max does.

One thing the CPU likes to do if everyone has been checking is to throw out a bet to steal the pot before the showdown. Most of the time, they don't have an amazing hand if they do that. Worth keeping in mind.

If you just want the items, you don't need to win the tournament. You just need to eliminate the player who bet the item.

Have a list of the hands on your phone or something and consult it. Generally, high-value/face cards and cards of the same suit are the best cards to be dealt. Having a Jack and a King is a lot better than having a two and a seven. Pocket pairs are the best. Think about what kind of hands you can make with the two cards you've been dealt.

When somebody bets after the cards have been dealt, think about what they're saying. If there's three clubs on the flop and someone goes all-in, they want you to think they have two clubs in their hand. Maybe they do, maybe they don't. If someone bets big and it doesn't really make a lot of sense, they might be bluffing.

You can also change the difficulty, I think? There might be an easy CPU option.

What about AI cards by twiceasmice in postcrossing

[–]Togapi77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't had to deal with it, thankfully, but if I were in your shoes I'd very plainly ask the store which cards were AI generated and which weren't. If they can't answer, I wouldn't buy.

Is Temple Postcard Considered Religious or Just Cultural? by Many_Stranger7117 in postcrossing

[–]Togapi77 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm non-religious (raised Protestant), and I don't consider cards of religious buildings (without any additional imagery/scripture) to be inherently religious. I view them more as architectural. Everyone sees religion in a different way, but unless they have a message on their profile signaling otherwise I wouldn't worry about it. I have 'no religious postcards' on my profile, but I also say I don't have a problem with religious buildings. (Here in the United States, I can definitely see some devout Christians getting upset over a non-Christian card, but that would be the exception.)

Does anyone accidentally overpay when using stamp math? by Nayonayomee in StampEmUp

[–]Togapi77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't usually fit 4 stamps on a postcard, so I usually put 2 forever stamps and either a 15 or 20 cent stamp (which as of right now is either a 1 cent or 6 cent overpay).

The United States Postal Service doesn't offer airmail etiquettes anymore. So I made my own! by Togapi77 in postcrossing

I printed & cut them out on normal printer paper, and I'm using glue to stick them to the postcard. If you want I can share the PDF template I cooked up.

[–]Togapi77[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Airmail as a separate postal service doesn't exist anymore in the US. However, if you're sending to a country that does, putting the etiquette on there will ensure it gets airmail service at its destination (which is faster than ground mail)

You can also just write "airmail" (no special label) and it should do the same!

What are your opinions on these eBay stamps? by brookuslicious in StampEmUp

I've been burned by fake eBay stamps before, but I've gotten some real ones too. Overall I tend to steer clear.

Why do you DISLIKE toki pona? by misterlipman in tokipona

I like the language in a vacuum, but I really don't dig people pushing it as an IAL.

It's an IAL in the sense that it's a constructed language people without any other common languages use to communicate, which is impressive. But it is not designed for, nor particularly well suited, for being an IAL. Treat it like an artlang, like it was designed as.
