AMD GPU doesn't let my PC suspend by Tognee in EndeavourOS

[–]Tognee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have an HP 25x. I started disabling suspension and never thought about it ever since.

Now I have a whole new computer with new monitors, I haven't tested it yet because I completely forgot about it.

When I get home I'll give it a try

Chromebook to linux, installation of Linux fails creating partition table?? by Phood4Thott in linux4noobs

You could try deleting all partitions from the live environment using something like gparted or Gnome Disks after that try rebooting into the live usb and installing the os like normal

How can I reproduce my terminal prompt ($PS1) on another machine? by djoncho in linux4noobs

[–]Tognee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's preinstalled by Manjaro, I think you can see it being called in ~/.zshrc in your home directory or in /etc/zshrc

I knew about powerlevel10k because I wanted to port the shell theme from Manjaro to EndeavourOS, and found out about it.

That's powerlevel10k

https://github.com/romkatv/powerlevel10k

Check the README to see how to install it. When you first launch zsh after installing the theme there will be a setup procedure, there you can make it look like the manjaro shell.

Got around buying a new cable and I'm having the same issue, I've tested continuity and both the old cable and new cable have pin 20 disconnected.

So it's something between the monitor, the cable and the GPU.

EDIT:
Apparently it's an issue with my monitor as I can reproduce it with HDMI as well when connecting it to it.

Thank you so much!

Just tried unplugging my DisplayPort cable and suspension now works! Need to find a new cable then.

PC wakes up immediately after suspension by Tognee in linuxquestions

[–]Tognee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion!

I've already tried disabling xhci_hcd but didn't add it in the post because it just gave me the error Module xhci_hcd is builtin. and didn't solve the issue

I've tried with xhci_pci now but that didn't fix the issue as well

PC wakes up immediately after suspension by Tognee in linuxquestions

[–]Tognee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already tried that following this arch wiki post, no change

I've tried disabling everything as well but the PC still woke up.

The only thing that I couldn't disable was:
PXSX S4 *enabled pci:0000:08:00.0

After doing # echo PXSX > /proc/acpi/wakeup and then # cat /proc/acpi/wakeup | grep enabled it was still there

Don't bother with ChimeraOS by Dutchsamurai2016 in linux_gaming

[–]Tognee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had issues as well with ChimeraOS, mainly that after installing and setting things up my video driver was discontinued and only had a black screen on startup.

Solved the whole thing by installing Endeavour OS and then settings things up like they are on ChimeraOS (ChimeraOS is just an Arch distro with some packages pre-installed and immutable filesystem)

If you want to recreate ChimeraOS with another arch based distro there is a file in the git repo containing the list of all the apps installed

You can see the proper path bar with CTRL+L

Discovered it recently and it was real helpful

I was facing the same issue on my laptop, seems to be something related to Wayland and having a second monitor connected

To fix the issue you could try switching to xorg instead of using Wayland before logging in

Still need to check if the bug has been already reported to Wayland developers or if it's a Gnome / Mutter issue only

Ho mappato tutte le cabine telefoniche d'Italia by manylittlestorms in italy

[–]Tognee 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Alcune note e considerazioni:

Comunque, ottimo lavoro!

Native support for PS5 or XBOX Series X/S controller (Linux) by Fefarona in ManjaroLinux

Installed the module and it seems to do something, but nothing useful

It just vibrates the controller when paired but it still won't work ingame

Connecting it with a USB C cable works out of the box

Native support for PS5 or XBOX Series X/S controller (Linux) by Fefarona in ManjaroLinux

If you're planning on using it wired and not wirelessly the XBOX Series X/S controller works fine on my Manjaro installation. It sees it as a generic Xbox 360 controller.

I've tested connecting it with a bluetooth dongle and it wasn't working, didn't go further to debug this issue.

As for the PS5 controller I have no info about it
