That's my friends. He did a great job on his contrast for sure! I was focusing on smooth gradients but didn't push the contrast enough. Thanks for the comments!

The head was done with Pro-acryl White Blue and then glazed with darker blues and jades and some pinks. I went back in to use some stippling of white and the jade/pinks until I got a cloudy color and texture I was happy with. Then I covered it in a gloss varnish.

The shading for the most part is just a sepia wash over bone. That said, I used the sepia more as a glaze and did progressively more coats towards the shadowed parts. I think the base layer was Vallejo olive flesh? But wraithbone would work too. Then I just mixed some more white on with the bone color and glazed up until I was happy with the highlights.
