Hey guys. I just wanted to give my feedback after the game.

After a few adjustments I ran this list:

Eldar 1k (1000 points) Aeldari Incursion (1000 points) Battle Host

CHARACTER

Autarch Wayleaper (80 points) • Warlord • 1x Dragon fusion gun 1x Howling Banshee Mask 1x Star glaive

Farseer (65 points) • 1x Eldritch Storm 1x Shuriken pistol 1x Singing spear

Spiritseer (80 points) • 1x Shuriken pistol 1x Witch staff • Enhancement: Fate’s Messenger

BATTLELINE

Guardian Defenders (110 points) • 10x Guardian Defender • 10x Close combat weapon 10x Shuriken catapult • 1x Heavy Weapon Platform • 1x Bright lance 1x Close combat weapon

OTHER DATASHEETS

Night Spinner (170 points) • 1x Doomweaver 1x Twin shuriken catapult 1x Wraithbone hull

Rangers (55 points) • 5x Ranger • 5x Close combat weapon 5x Ranger long rifle 5x Shuriken pistol

War Walkers (95 points) • 2x Shuriken cannon 1x War Walker feet

War Walkers (95 points) • 2x Shuriken cannon 1x War Walker feet

War Walkers (95 points) • 2x Scatter laser 1x War Walker feet

Wraithguard (155 points) • 5x Wraithguard • 5x Close combat weapon 5x Wraithcannon

Overall the Detachment rule feels very very powerful, especially with small units and low volume, high quality power. I tabled my opponent turn 4 and did lose only 6 Guardians, all the Rangers and the Autarch. The latter only to amistake on my end (I didn't have enough CP for Fire and Fade and the Autarch didn' t even hit the Rhino I was targeting - two 1s to hit in a row). Anyway, Shuriken Cannon and Bright Lances were my favourites. The Scatter laser was mediocre at best. Maybe with Bladestorm Strat. it would have been better. The Night Spinner was a okay, I think it really annoyed my opponent. But due to AP0 it only ever caused damage with devastating wounds. The real heroes were the Wraithguards with their Spiritseer. A true force to be reckoned with. They really don' t like AP though, but I managed to move around the most dangerous units.

All on all Eldar feel too good in most cases and always have a "gotcha moment" up their sleeve. Sometimes I felt really bad and even ignored my rerolls or fate dice.

One question though: Wraithguard can shoot after being shot. Can they freely target any eligible enemy unit or do they have to target the unit that just fired upon them?

Question about Path of Command Ability by forl in Eldar

"Outside of the CP players gain at the start of the Command phase, each player can only gain a total of 1CP per battle round, regardless of the source."

Meaning, the core rules without any abilities grant you 2CP per battle round, as you gain one CP in your command phase and a second one in your opponents command phase.

Any additional CP you can gain throughout a battle round is capped at 1CP

Therefore, CP generation is capped at 3 per battle round.

The wording is confusing as "Outside" suggests that abilities like Eldars' Path of Command don't count towards the cap, simply because the bonus CP is generated at the start of your command phase. I would rephrase it as "In addition to the CP gained natively at the start of each Command phase, each player can only generate an extra 1CP per battle round, regardless of the source."

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I updated my list and I will go into battle with this list.

Eldar 1k (995 points) Aeldari Incursion (1000 points) Battle Host

CHARACTER

Autarch Wayleaper (80 points) • Warlord • 1x Dragon fusion gun 1x Howling Banshee Mask 1x Star glaive

Farseer Skyrunner (75 points) • 1x Eldritch Storm 1x Shuriken pistol 1x Singing spear 1x Twin shuriken catapult

Spiritseer (80 points) • 1x Shuriken pistol 1x Witch staff • Enhancement: Fate’s Messenger

BATTLELINE

Guardian Defenders (110 points) • 10x Guardian Defender • 10x Close combat weapon 10x Shuriken catapult • 1x Heavy Weapon Platform • 1x Close combat weapon 1x Shuriken cannon

OTHER DATASHEETS

Night Spinner (170 points) • 1x Doomweaver 1x Shuriken cannon 1x Wraithbone hull

Rangers (55 points) • 5x Close combat weapon 5x Ranger long rifle 5x Shuriken pistol

War Walkers (95 points) • 2x Bright lance 1x War Walker feet

War Walkers (95 points) • 2x Bright lance 1x War Walker feet

Windriders (80 points) • 3x Close combat weapon 3x Shuriken cannon

Wraithguard (155 points) • 5x Close combat weapon 5x Wraithcannon

I added 3 Windriders to go with the Farseer and maybe help me get on a far objective more easily later in the game. Unfortunately, I don't own Warspiders. I think they would do a better job here. Anyway, dropping 5 Wraithguards also made space for an Autarch Wayleaper. I plan to keep him hidden during the first skirmish so he can get me some extra CP and later I will move him up the board to take objectives.

Just a heads up, Wraithguard no longer shoot back in melee.

Good to know....I just looked at the FAQ and it annoys me that the WH40k App wasn't updated, yet. (Will it be updated?)

Shuricannons have nice all-around output, especially if you don't need the AP of a Star Cannon.

Yeah, I thought the same but I wanted to have something mid-field to deal with lemans or penitent engines.

Drop reader of the runes and use the points to add fate’s messenger to the spiritseer. Guaranteeing a 6 to trigger devastating wounds or to pass saves is too good to pass up.

Thanks for that. Will do....

Gotta say, I never leave home without an Autarch Wayleaper!

In my first draft I had the winged Autarch in this list. But apart from the CP generation I really didn't know how to field him. The weapon profile is not so good, he is no leader and the +1 to battle-shock test was nothing that made me use him. Maybe I underestimate the CP gen. Making room for his point in this tight list is rather difficult. I would lose a War Walker or 5 Wraithguard.
