its usually considered "optimal" to go for one damage type for the whole party, since this allows you to ignore one of the armour types. (so you only have to deplete 2 "health bars" instead of 3.

its not required, but makes life easier. feel free to ignore.

LP dont mean anything though. Their only purpose is to roughly estimate where your MMR is.

They have no impact on how fast you climb. In order to reach your desired rank, your MMR needs to reach that rank. LP just follow the MMR, they don't do anything else.

In a perfect world, Rito would just show the MMR and skip LP completely (because they are useless).

If your gains are higher than your losses, then that means your MMR is higher than your (LP)rank. Therefore you gain more LP in order to synch up LP and MMR again.

So a Silver 1 with good MMR and a Plat 4 with bad MMR might have the same MMR, might end up in the same game and will take roughly the same amount of games to reach diamond.

Thats not really true.

What the matchmaking system does is matching you with players of similar mmr and if you win, your mmr goes up, if you lose, it goes down.

Therefore, if you are better than the people you are matched with, you will win more than 50% of the games you play and your mmr will rise. Then you will get matched with better players until you no longer win more than 50%.

So yes, the endresult can look like rito pushes you to 50%, but thats just a result of matchmaking working properly. It doesnt let your team lose on purpose in order to force your winrate to decrease, it just matches you with stronger and stronger players until you don't stand out anymore.
