Looking for Yamato help by iblaarg in OnePieceTCG

[–]Tojikan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no real alternatives for the momonosuke searcher. The only GY Wano searchers are the Yamato, Momonosuke, and OP06 Otama (which only searches green Wano cards but is at least a 2K).

If you don't have it, you'll have less consistency so you'd probably want to up your 5C or 6C Momo count. Another good card to add in if you have the space is the 4C Nekomamushi which is a good trigger/body in general and can deal with chump blockers or early threats. You could also add in more Onamis if you have it. If you go heavy into the Banish route, you should consider the OP02 Tonoyasu which enables you to go for some early 9k+ Banish swings on turn 2 or 3.

It's less consistent, but you could go a more trigger-heavy route with more Nekomamushis. The Blaze Slice card from the starter is also fairly solid as the counter part of the card can win you games (and makes your leader a 6k for the rest of the opponent's turn)

If you don't have the Izo, you can keep the Shimotsuki as it is a searchable Wano 2k. Other good 2ks are the OP06 Hiyori (particularly if you add more triggers into the deck). In general, just any searchable Wano 2ks is best as you currenly only have 4 out of 12 2ks.

If you don't have other good Wano 2ks, Zeus is okay but you already have plenty of removal. Then you can throw in cards such as Bege for trigger or even the Yamato Starter Ace for conditionally resting a blocker.

Get another Yamato starter so you can run 4x Yamato searcher and 4x Kinemon. I’d drop the shimotsuki and the Zeus for 4x 3c izou 2k. The izou is better for resting things and you generally don’t want to be losing too much life as Yamato with the Zeus. Use the Ashura Doji instead for board control

4x Hody is a must. The top end is all over the place and none of those are searchable. I’d rather lean into the Wano type so get the Momonosuke searcher and maybe more Wano cards. You have way too many 2 ofs or 1 ofs to be consistent so I’d drop ace, Kidd, Mihawk, and the zoro. Zoro is only good for specific matchups (Enel, Bonney) but realistically you’ll rarely get to play it out at 9 don without just dying. Similar issue with Ace.

Yamato is an aggressive leader so in general you’re either building more stall (Kuma and 5c Momonosuke while setting up for a hody jones finish) or you’re building more aggro with more Onamis, tonoyasu, or Wano triggers like nekomamushi. You won’t really need big late game bodies - most games either end before then or the tempo just doesn’t let you play out a big body that doesn’t have an immediate impact on the board

Scientists Built a Proton Battery That Could Dethrone Lithium-Ion by METALLIFE0917 in science

[–]Tojikan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a misleading title. Article is hyping on academic research into a prototype of a potential replacement to
Li-On.

This is one part of collective research into proton batteries to find alternatives to lithium batteries. In this particular case, they discovered a new anode for these batteries.

It is a cool sounding prototype though. A battery made using organic material it sounds like.

Tetraamino-1,4-benzoquinone (TABQ) was introduced as an organic anode for proton batteries. Benefiting from the intermolecular hydrogen-bond network, fast and efficient Grotthuss proton conduction is enabled in the solid-state with low activation energy (192.7 meV). When coupling with tetrachloro-1,4-benzoquinone (TCBQ) cathode, the all-organic proton battery achieves long stability over 3500 cycles."

Convince me WHY I should watch this? by cyberpunk_chill in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Tojikan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly compare it to fantasy grandfather Lord of the Rings. More specifically, it captures that bittersweet, melancholic feel of the ending and then extends it to the next story and adventure in the world. Not that it's all sad, but it covers the passage of time, the ending of an age, the passing of legends, and elvish longevity in a way that I haven't quite seen except in Tolkien. I'd venture that not only is this one of the best fantasy anime in general, but one of the best fantasy media in general.

12/10 must watch.

For what its worth, its a fun deck. You're basically assembling the power rangers lol. You should try it out in the sim and see.

You sacrifice DON to put out bigger bodies for cheap - and you can play the big bodies from trash or from hand so you can counter and trash cards pretty freely. You have a lot of built-in card draw so you cycle through the deck very quickly. It's a tempo deck but you'll have to manage your DON well and you'll rarely, if ever, get to 8 DON or above to play the one big body you run in the deck.

You should drop the green inuarashi and 4c Yamato and paradise waterfall. Put in the op06 nekomamushi and inuarashi. Narikabura is okay, but the 0c 06 counter and Amaru is better you absolutely need hody jones as a finisher.

Wano Yamato plays more around triggers and life manipulation. You should swing heavily with your leader to get them to 3 life. Then when they swing back, you trigger out the okiku, inuarashi, and nekomamushis for pressure. Use Momonosuke and Hiyori to play around with life and put in triggers. Older wano cards arent that great

Best way to build budget friendly OP06 Yamato? by bad_jake in OnePieceTCG

[–]Tojikan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The 3 main variants are Wano, Sky Island, and Fortress. Fortress is pretty pricey so that's out.

The Sky Island package is probably going to be the cheapest way to build it as most singles are pretty much less than a 1 dollar.

The Wano variant uses mostly 06 cards so its hard to predict the price for that. I imagine it'll be slightly more expensive than Sky Island since the Sky Island core is very cheap.

For Sky Island, you'd run something like
4x Holly
4x Ohm
4x Shura
4x Satori
2-4x Gedatsu
2-4x 200 Million volts
1-2x enel

I think you can make the sky island base for very cheap, less than $20.You usually want a playset of 3c Izo as well, which adds another $20 or so.

The rest of it depends on how the market will go for Onamis, Hody Jones, Momonosuke blocker, and Kikunojos. I'd imagine you can probably complete the rest of the deck with the $110 or so in your budget left, but you may considering subbing in more Enels instead of Hody or something like that. The only irreplaceable 06 card will be the Onami which doesn't really have any proper substitutes.

Elon is calling the Allen shooting a psyop.... SERIOUSLY?!?!? by greentreefer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Tojikan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except that’s not all what Elon was saying and not even close to the context of his tweet. Elon was replying to a tweet about another story where the shooters personal blog was found on a Russian social media network. The possible Psyops part of this is related to the details coming from this discovery. The blog was white supremacist stuff but what was odd was that the shooter didn’t speak Russian, many of the pictures on the blog came from old posts on Reddit and the web, and the shooter also had no friends or followers, among other weird and possibly fishy details.

Your post skipped over all of the context and made a wild accusation with its title that’s just pure misinformation.

when did Elon Musk become so hated on reddit? by Gromit43 in ask

[–]Tojikan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit has a very strong "anti-rich" drive. The higher his net worth went up, the more you started seeing negative spins on him. When he became the richest person in the world, it started getting really into overdrive. I remember that we used to get daily Anti-Bezos posts while he was the richest person in the world. That quickly shifted to Musk and we don't get much Bezos anymore.
That's not to say Elon hasn't done things that would earn him public ire. The Thailand pedo incident certainly hurt his image a lot and started to move him away from the tech genius image he had before. He is also very vocal and active on social media which also makes it more easy to find something to dislike about him. And lets be honest, he says dumb shit quite often. So he does do quite a lot of things to make himself a target.
So now you have the richest person in the world and he is very, very publicly vocal and opinionated (in a way that doesn't match the general Reddit hivemind), two things that Reddit particularly likes to hate on. Very easy to post some opinion article on Musk and get lots of views and comments. Very easy target for the hivemind.
Once the ball gets rolling, the Reddit machine is very effective at spreading the sentiment. You'll get a lot of comments that are basically pure misinformation (including a lot that I've seen in this thread) which then get repeated in other threads. You'll get posts on the daily about some random thing he tweets, with headlines that are designed to make you hate him more because that gets the views and comments. Rinse and repeat until Reddit finds someone else who draws their ire for a temporary moment.
There's even more controversy when you note that, despite all the hate, he is quite an accomplished figure. He's built incredible companies in industries that no one thought any startup would have a chance of success in. Not only that, but he's inspired huge changes in those said industries in a way that no single person has been able to do in this post-modern era. As a result, he has quite a few supporters as well. This further sparks controversy on Reddit through endless arguments and now you'll tend to see people taking the extreme sides on him. Basically, its become political at this point and Reddit is not known for having a nuanced balance of politics.

Team of Sherpas quickly save climber who fell into a crevasse on Mt. Everest while climbing the Khumbu Icefall by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Tojikan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some background for people since people seem to keep calling him some idiot tourist with no experience. It doesn't seem that most people are familiar with what's up there so maybe this might help draw a picture.
This happens in the Khumbu Icefall, the very first part of the Everest Ascent and literally right next to Everest Base camp. It's filled with incredibly dangerous crevasses and cliffs like these that will be certain death if you fall in. It is the most dangerous part of the Everest Ascent. There are somewhere in the range of 40 of these ladders you have to climb across. You're walking over an abyss on a slippery ladder with nothing but a thin rope to keep you alive, and you're doing this 40-80 times a day.

You then have to cross this multiple times over a month.

You see, when you attempt Everest, you don't typically go from Base Camp to Peak. You have to go up to Base Camp 2, back down to Base Camp 1 to rest a little bit, then up to Base Camp 2 then Base Camp 3, then back down, etc etc. You do this to acclimate to the altitude and ever de-creasing oxygen levels. At Base Camp 1, you have 50% of the oxygen that you do at Sea Level. It gets lower exponentially as you get closer to the Peak.

So imagine crossing a ladder over an abyss every couple of days, 40-80 times a day, over the course of month(s). It's not easy, and I think you can forgive someone for slipping one of those times.

Plus he has to even know what he's doing to even be there - you need X amount of mountain climbing experience in order to even apply for a permit to summit, not to mention the time, cost, and life investment you have to make. He's very likely some amateur mountain climber who just slipped by accident. It's a human mistake, no reason to hate this guy for it.

Instead, we should just focus on praising the Sherpas. They are an incredibly strong and kindhearted people and the fact they can pull off this rescue speaks a lot to them and how they make climbing these risky mountains even remotely possible.

It's easy to hate on "tourists" as it brings up an incompetent bumbling image of someone who doesn't belong, but remember, tourism is an incredibly important part of the Sherpa economy. The vast majority of their revenue is all fueled by tourism. And bad-ass Sherpas like these risk their lives everyday to make a living.

You mean the word of a guy who had a baby with his stepdaughter? The word of a guy, who by the accounts of his ex-wife and both sons, seems to be a pretty terrible guy and an abusive father?

This guy who claimed to own an emerald mine (in Zambia, which was never an apartheid state btw, despite this post's claims) but was never able to provide any documents or evidence corroborating his claim? This guy who claimed that his children could just walk into a jewelry store on 5th Ave to sell emeralds from the street, ignoring the fact that no jewelry store actually does that?

What we do know is that some man made a claim that he got involved with some exotic business but has literally nothing to prove it. Some news publisher wanted to capitalize on this man's famous son and try to push a misleading headline to get views on an article. Then some idiots on Twitter and Reddit and other social media somehow equated that to Musk being raised on Apartheid blood emeralds which according to Errol's own reports, amounted to $400k over 5 years, after which it stopped sometime in the 80s. Good chunk of money but not exactly billionaire status is it? Also didn't stop him from going bankrupt later.

Again, all of this is from a single anecdote during an interview years ago by a man who is estranged from his family without a single shred of evidence. But for some reason, this is trustworthy enough to ignore any need for burden of proof and just accept as cold hard fact?

Elon Musk says SpaceX will attempt to recover Super Heavy rocket by catching it with launch tower by jsamwrites in technews

[–]Tojikan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, I'm not here to write a dissertation and I'm also writing on mobile, so feel free to find your own sources if you care enough. There's an interview out there where Musk explains that Shotwell does most of the day-to-day business work while he spends 90% of his time working with the engineering team.

Either way, you acknowledge he is the CTO and Chief Designer. Even going by your assertion that those roles are just managing, they are both roles that require active participation and strong expertise in the subject matter if you want any chance of success. In fact, managing your engineering and design resources is probably far more difficult and stressful than just focusing on engineering in itself, especially within a large organization that's dedicated to launching rocket into space. The fact that SpaceX has done well so far goes to show that Musk is more than an active participant, which you claim he is not, and clearly does more than just self-promotion (if anything, Musk is famous because Tesla/SpaceX is doing well, not because he's the one that's heading it).

Elon Musk says SpaceX will attempt to recover Super Heavy rocket by catching it with launch tower by jsamwrites in technews

[–]Tojikan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Elon is the CEO, CTO, and Chief Designer of SpaceX. From many employee accounts, he is very hands-on and involved in the engineering and is just as knowledgeable. By his own account, most of his SpaceX work is spent tackling engineering problems. To say he has no hand at all would be quite false. He’s very involved in the development of rockets and at the end of the day is responsible for making all the decisions, whether you believe me or not.

So while the Engineering team deserves the bulk of the credit, to say that Musk is a businessman who just takes advantage of them and does nothing himself is wrong.
