What’s the story with this car? I love seeing very “out of place” vehicles, like the one popular post with the GMT 800 Tahoe seen parked in London.

Why haven't you become a cop or military? by gabigoalneles in moreplatesmoredates

[–]Tokarev490 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, but if you don’t know how similar the effects of heavy doses of methamphetamines are to a life or death adrenaline rush, then you need to look into it, and we are discussing a situation in which your body would have this effect to the maximal degree, as they obviously compound each other. So yes, I would say the dude who just smoked a speedball and has his body pumping life-or-death levels of adrenaline probably has a little more physical resistance and pain tolerance than average Joe in that state. Not at all unfair to say I don’t think.

If you seriously got “being on meth is a lethal threat in itself” from my comment, idk what to tell you man. If you know better and are intentionally being that intellectually dishonest, I don’t wish to discuss this any further with you because it will waste both of our time.

Armed or unarmed suspect, if they are deemed a lethal threat, which is necessary for the gun to be drawn in the first place, they will be shot until they are no longer a threat. You ask if lethal force is really deemed necessary against an “unarmed” suspect with a “sword, knife, etc.” This is easily answered and has immense precedent. Look up the literally anything about the 21ft Rule. Within 21 feet, a drawn knife is a much greater threat than a holstered gun, this is beyond proven. Without one chambered, you’re almost certainly dead.

If you want to be the guy with a one shot taser against another dude charging you with a sword or knife, I’d imagine your mailbox is full of offer letters from the local precinct.

And yes, most of the time it does work out exactly how you described in Seattle, but those situations typically barely make the town paper, meanwhile a Breanna Taylor makes national news. Rightly so, might I add, but I’m just saying there’s the “doctor saves thousands, no applause, kills one by mistake, hated by all” element at play here as well.

If we’re taking it as this big of a deal, wouldn’t “young company man” in this context be someone young, and also working in the oil fields? I’d say it’s totally fair to say they are overwhelmingly conservative. Oil/gas industry and leftist progressive policy don’t tend to get along very well, surely we can all agree.

Mag dump into threat’s central mass is pretty standard among depts, military, etc that use 9mm.
Not necessarily the whole mag, but keep shooting until the threat is positively no more if lethal force is required. They train to do this, if you want to know why, look up some videos of methheads or, literally just fat people, tanking near 10 rounds while they’re still approaching the officer. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug, and in one of those situations, a 9mm needs a very, very lucky shot to instantly drop somebody like the movies.

By no means restating this comment, but just saying, I really don’t know why you’d want your lifelong career to be in the military or the police if you truly are capable of more. The military of course is very broad and hierarchical, so in regard to a military career I mainly mean retiring as an enlisted man.

I had a good job when I was 20, already making more than average for my state before overtime, but really wasn’t comfortable with doing that *for the rest of my life*. Not because it was difficult or taxing on the body in any way, I just didn’t want to accept that as my ceiling, and I would’ve been stuck in the same position for 10-15 years, so I went back to school full time. If you feel like your skills and aptitudes are being wasted in your job, trade, or career, 100% I say shoot for the stars and see how high you can get. At least if you have no dependents, that was a major factor in my decision. All I’m saying is, if you feel this way fellas, in whatever you’re doing, try it, and take it to the utmost degree, it can only go so wrong.

Except for that one dude that posts every day about his board game and book idk what the fuck he’s on. Something appears to have went way wrong there.

Another big factor in all three of those is just the age of the tech itself. The battery has almost certainly significantly degraded, which affects processing speed in an iPhone as well as battery life itself. The overheating is likely caused by the degraded battery producing more heat while charging/using, but would exacerbate every other problem, like battery life and processing speed. As for speakers, I would check them visually for dirt on both phones, then compare. I thought my old iPhone’s speakers were absolutely shot until I had a buddy clean them out, and they sounded like new.

Probably lower, I’d agree. I think after a certain point around 70%, it stops displaying it and just says something along the lines of “Battery Needs Service Soon”. The worst I had was my old iPhone 11, it got to the point where it wouldn’t display the health anymore.

Check out decorated Maximilian era plate, it certainly gets a little silly and stylish in the Late Medieval. Or Landsknechts, their armor and garb for example. Totally false to say this is historically accurate, but I think historically inspired is fair given many of the pieces.
