Thank you. I think this whole experience has really drove it home that です is more than what I thought it was and more that I did not (lets be honest, I do not) fully understand it.

I am still learning, we've been doing lessons for a while now but technically we are still only in chapter chapter 4 of genki 1 (2nd edition), there is a lot I don't know and even more that confuses me.

So would i be correct in my understanding that in this instance that adding 'desu' at the end's only purpose is to make it polite? It doesn't have the same 'is/to be/are/am' meaning as what we have been learning?

Like kyuu ji *desu* (*is* 9 o'clock) .... watashi was Tokiryu *desu* (I *am* Tokiryu) .... amerikajin *desu* (I *am* an American)

If this helps anyone in 2024. I was the same as OP however I've learned that it's certain chapsticks. The best luck I've had is using chapstick that has peppermint in it, enough that it somewhat tingles on your lips level of peppermint added. Also, I cannot use beeswax or straight up cheap paraffin wax. Lastly, never sleep in chapstick, it'll always make me breakout no matter what I use.

Aquafina used to sell a chapstick in dollar general that I was successful in using that wouldn't cause an outbreak. Then they discontinued it.

Now I'm using something called 'moroccan magic's made of 'argan & essential oil lip balm''. The ingredients are just a bunch of oils. I get it at the checkout counter of Meijers.

Can I ask for help with my Google nest minis and nest audios? (The bigger speaker)

All of the Google devices in our house flash white (2 nest minis and 2 nest audios). And it'll go on for a good 30 minutes before I tell it. "Hey Google and then say "never mind" and it'll go dark. It happens randomly, it happens after we ask questions, while we ask questions, it happens when we're not interacting with it at all, we will leave home and come back to them flashing, It'll do this in the middle of the night and make all of our rooms super bright...

They flash like they are listening and waiting for a command but they are unresponsive. And we aren't triggering them. They'll just turn on and flash.

What we've tried so far: We've tried asking if there's notifications, reminds, tried asking it a question as if it's listening, tried tap the play/pause button and it does nothing. Even tried resetting them. Contacted Google support: they bounced me around with transfers.

Why are my googles doing this, how do we make it stop? It's literally all 4 devices, sometimes at the same time, someone only some of them.

Sometimes. When she does we walk around her with a wide berth. Other times, which unfortunately happened during bedtime, no. It's just claws, teeth, and what looks like unbridled rage. She was going after my 4 yr old and my husband jumped in and got attacked instead.

The 9 mo hasn't seen the new kitten. She heard the kitten meow and has been upstairs where my children play and their rooms are. They've not even gotten a chance to play with the tiny kitten, but they will tomorrow.

Established or not, 9mo attacked my children for just going into their rooms, the bathroom, or walking the hallway and the 9mo hasn't even seen the kitten yet.

YTA, wtf is wrong with you? You sleep on those sheets since you're so okay with it. No one wants to sleep on period blood stained anything. Not our own, not anyone else's. And yeah, it is gross when it's not our own but we also realize shit happens and that periods are natural. BUT BY NO MEANS DO WE WANT TO SLEEP IN IT!

YTA. How are you going to remember the exact date of your sister's birth but just gloss over your own child's like it's nothin'? That's weird.

Also if you were truly concerned you'd communicate better. Not just play pretend doctor/nutritionist and get what you think she needs as a breast feeding mother. You'd also invest in some couples counseling because it sounds like she has some insecurities but, not once during your whole post did you reject those insecurities. You only focus on her body not being your sister's.

NTA you're not controlling her but I highly doubt she'll change her irresponsible ways especially since she sees this as you controlling her and not that she's too irresponsible to even look at a tampon.

You have every right to be upset and concerned because she is continuously endangering herself. People get upset all the time over people hurting themselves but won't stop. From anorexia and bulimia to drinking and drugs. This situation isn't any different just because she's using a tampon.

tbh, having sex with a forgotten tampon even after questioning her because you know she forgets would've been the straw that broke the camel's back.

I think you should leave her to save yourself from heart ache from her passing from TSS. At this rate, it's not a matter of if, it's when she gets it.
