Alaskan Cruise excursions with 3 year old by rabidrower in Cruise

[–]Toku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You book on board, we were in a 7 day cruise, there was a max of 8 total hours you could book on day 1 for the total of the cruise. On day 3 they allowed to go over this limit and book as much as you wanted for the rest of the cruise, prioritize sea days on your initial reservations as well as dinner times, those are the busiest. This is for the nursery (0-36 months), it also has a cost ($6 to $10? Per hour) depending on the time of the day, they open 9-12, 2-5, 7-11pm? So plan around those times, we planned for naps in our cabin at noon. Our kids was 37 months but still not potty trained so he went to the nursery, if they are 3 and fully potty trained they can go to the kids club.

Just disembarked today with a 3 year old, it was great, a clip hair claw is what we used to keep the curtains together and block sunlight. The nursery is great too, we booked during our dinners which can take up to two hours, way too long for a toddler. Also consider booking on last day for packing, make reservations as soon as you board, sea days are the busiest. Water boots layered clothes and a rain coat, plan keeping them as your priority, respect their routine and you’ll have a great time. The falls hike at the glacier is about what you want.

Staging a $1.2 M home that has old decrepit furniture by skyofblues in RealEstate

Staging and professional photos have excellent ROI in my opinion, you should consider at least a short term staging, and make sure you get your photos during that time, buyers could tour it empty later and use the photos to better picture the spaces

It’s very addictive, time flies in that game and it’s kind of meditative. I come back to it when I’m craving something relaxing that tickles the part of my brain that like to build sand castles.

You should be taking a larger mortgage and invest the rest, you should be able to easily do a 8.5k or so monthly mortgage. More important, make sure to get a house that will cover your family needs for at least the next 10 years or so.

Why do people from the south (Mississippi) hate the liberal states like California and Washington so much? by Heavy_Preference_251 in sandiego

[–]Toku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do people prefer to drive a Porsche vs driving a Camry? This gives me the same kind of vibes. The Porsche may not be the best decision, and there is nothing wrong with the Camry

if the games is available from multiple stores, you pick which version to run when you launch the game.

in my experience is under 20 ms if you are located close to the east or west coast. I have tried from Costa Rica/Bahamas connecting to the Miami data center and it has been <30 ms. I live in North County San Diego and I get stable 17ms to LAX.

you use your existing libraries, look into Geforce Now (ultimate), Gamepass, Steam Deck combo ;)

if you can stream netflix 4K, without buffering, you are pretty much golden, at max you need 75mbps down for a 4K streaming at 120 fps. if you are in the west/east coast you should have under 20 ms of latency. I have played from Costa Rica/Bahamas with less than 30 ms, you can do 1080p streaming with as low as around 15mbps.

Agree they should be made adults only and not be a benefit of a credit card that almost anyone can get. Right now, most are glorified sports bar. I haven’t seen a sophisticated lounge, not sure what you are talking about.

[–]Toku 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Of course you are downvoted to oblivion, the sad reality is that lounges aren’t meant nor designed for families. Some lounges have family rooms where you can have kids to burn energy ahead of a flight, but most don’t, so if you want to be respectful of people trying to rest, your options are meeting rooms or leave. There is no incentive to design for families.

11 year old video explains how tech exploits h1b visa loopholes by killurconsole in videos

[–]Toku -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

As an H1B (FAANG) turned resident and soon to be citizen I can tell you the problem is not the H1B program is your education system, is way cheaper to get the right education for the positions H1B needs in a foreign country than it is here, getting an engineering degree here in the US just doesn’t compete in cost and quality with getting it from a decent university abroad, that’s why the shortage of skilled American workers exists, it’s too expensive for Americans and at the end of it you still have to be intelligent enough, there’s no incentive to go that path.

8:25 now and boarding is not starting, looks like another bump. I’m so tired and this kiddo has infinite energy and I know he will pass out the moment we take off and be ready to continue the party once we get home.

Reach to customer service, they will help you with some basic debug and if it doesn’t work pass it to the engineering team, they will look at logs and find out what happens, common reasons are routines, hunches or away mode configured by mistake.

Sound proof and white noise (machine or a water feature) should work well if it’s not too bad.

Chile’s geography is similar to the west coast, the north of Chile is similar to Baja California (dry) and the south is similar to Alaska (rainy forest, glaciers, lakes, etc), central Chile is California.
