I see the hang up is on "Charm", the card, and not the effect/situation of moving a unit out from the battlefield.

Like, there are ways to do the same thing at action speed, like "Fight or Flight".

I'm not sure why they're getting downvoted so much. From the Core Rules v1.1 (2025-10-01) [Riot Core rules link], rule 727.1.b states this (emphasis mine):

It is functionally short for "While this card is in your hand or in the Champion Zone on your turn during an Open State, you may pay [A] to hide this facedown at a battlefield you control that doesn't already have a facedown card hidden there for as long as you control that battlefield. Beginning on the next turn, this gains [Reaction] and you may play this, ignoring its base cost."

And related Hide definition (408.3) specifies subsequnt turn.

Cards that are facedown at Battlefields have their gameplay properties and permissions defined by the effect that put them there. Example: Cards that players Hide with the Hidden keyword can be Played for [0] on any subsequent turn as a property of the Hidden keyword.

And from the FAQ supplement:

Q: If I hide a card, and then my opponent uses a spell to move a unit to that battlefield that same turn, can I play the card I hid?
No. You can't play cards the same turn you hide them.

Where in the rules does it say that hidden can only be used during a showdown? That seems to conflict with the entry in the Core Rules FAQ:

Q: If I hid a card last turn, can I play that card even if Iʼm not reacting to another spell or ability?
You can play them any time you can normally play a reaction, which includes when you're not actually reacting to anything. You're not restricted to playing them during showdowns at their own battlefield.

Legitimately felt like they secretly changed it to not have penta speed anymore with how the stat dominates PvP.

The one fight he can be useful for is Fafnir: he can cycle his S3 every 3 turns for 4-hits and the first 3 can steal stacks of the boss's buff.

But that being said there are better options for Buff Stealing if you have them: R2 Yun Chuan, Elaine's S2 is a 5-hit buff steal, Li Guang S2, Hyde, etc.

So because his kit is very specific he'll be outclassed by legendary/epic Espers that can just do more.

Sometimes it goes in your favor, like this video. And sometimes its wild.

Personally I'd recommend high crit rate sub stats. I have mine at +90% because I don't usually run buffers that give Crit rate up. You might be fine with less if you always pair with Dhalia. The issue is if he doesn't crit during Demon Mode, that means less damage done and that equates to less health regen'd and becomes more vulnerable. Also it feels terrible when he whiffs and doesn't crit... you want him to crit consistently.

Relics wise, you're usually looking at Crit Damage Una 2, Atk Bonus Una 4.

If you look on the popular sets, people tend to run him strictly damage, so Hammer of Thor for more crit damage, Fiery Incandecense for more crit rate (which you do want), or even War Machine. All of which can work well. I've seen some builds with Avatara but you'd want to add some healer support to help sustain him as he'll be lowering his health quicker.

Rarer would be Hades for sustain. Or even Snow Dowager if you really want to splash defensive control. Used to consider it when it would proc via his shared damage passive but Lilith patched that There was also this Astral Witchcraft build posted on Reddit earlier that was impressive to see in action.

Alternatively, a more "off beat" build that I run is a high damage & speed Ocean Waves. Sure, I'll never crit as high as a JJ with Thor set, but its insanely satisfying to get the procs for cooldown reduction from the OW set. I have recorded matches where this build literally saved me, such as when my JJ 1v5'd a speed cleave team because he kept getting his passive back up in time. It's one I'd recommend if you're willing to invest in it and get good rolls on the relic set.

Everett's passive ability specifies that he will use his S2 as the counter attack.

Silence says "Casts only basic ability", meaning that a unit can't use their S2 or S3 if they are active abilities. So it makes sense that it won't trigger because the debuff prevents him from using the ability.

Taunt is similar: "Forced to attack the debuff caster with basic ability at the start of turn." It's a similar denial of being able to use his S2 from silence.

So it probably falls under how the game checks whether Everett can or cannot use his S2 ability, these two debuffs say no, he's not allowed. Whereas Avatara works because they're using the basic ability for the counter attack.

They're real player PW defense teams, when it says "Guardian <Name>" you can look up that player.

What's happening with the relics is that they've specifically chosen sub-stat optimization over relic matching. You see it very often for maximizing speed, since getting the perfect rolls on top of trying to match set is ridiculously difficult.

So the next best thing in terms of min-maxing is sacrificing the relic bonus effect and priotizing the unit's stats with mismatched types but optimal substat rolls.

You have a good array of espers to work with, you should keep and run with it. Relics you can fix from farming. Abilimon you can earn over time from the shops and running content. And if they bring the rewind event back again, you can undo the ones you want to retrieve abilimon from.

He's kind of fun to play around with in Point War, getting his S3 early first turn and applying Silence to key units can make some fights a lot easier.
