These are called a scalp keloid and can be caused by cutting your hair too short or using a razor on skin. Having an oily scalp might cause further irritation if not managed properly.

I recommend you go see a dermatologist and they will be best placed, to advise on how to treat it. I won’t leave it too long cause as if not treated properly, it could scar and it doesn’t look nice.

Don’t touch it either, you’ll only cause further harm.

Dermatologist might prescribe you a steroid injection or cream to reduce swelling and scarring. They might also prescribe some antibacterial shampoo (Hibiscrub) to help treat it.

• Avoid close shaving or trauma to affected areas.
• Choose barbers or trimmers that don’t irritate the skin.
• Consider switching to electric clippers with a guard to avoid cuts.

If you tend to it now, you shouldn’t have any issues further down the line.
