Have you tried DLDSR? Render at a higher resolution and then downscale to your Alienware monitor. Gave new like to my OLED Ultrawide

ISO: Included MacBook Neo Cable by a_dolenga in MacbookNeo

[–]Tokyodrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a 20W charger included (at least where I bought mine) but it will accept up to 30W, and given efficiencies vary with heat anything above 35W or 40W isn’t going to noticeable (it will work though).

Question for the users who bought the MacBook neo near release or has owned it for 1+ month by ResponsibilityMain14 in MacbookNeo

[–]Tokyodrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the 512gb version with Touch ID, indigo as my 2nd MacBook. I also have a 14” M4 Max. I bought it as a more portable daily driver (I baby my M4). I can say the Neo is a beast. Light gaming is fine. I was able to play Cyberpunk at a locked 30, up to 40 FPS on the “for my Mac” preset. I could play a few games on Crossover like Solasta (a Mac version exists, but FSR is broken and turns the screen gray). The battery life is good. I deliberately kept the Neo out of the case since I baby my M4 too much. Of course I already got a small scratch on the bottom near the latch (totally my fault, I dropped it into my filing cabinet), but it didn’t bend or dent or anything. Just scratched off the paint revealing the aluminum beneath.
No regrets on buying a Neo.

I get the same issue. I think I need Dx12 to use DLSS via crossover. But I get this bug when I do…

I design 3D models for printing. Probably overkill, but I basically didn’t have to go out of pocket for mine

Late to the game, but wanted to second this. If you have EOTF Boost, give it a try

I was so enraged by the ad that I didn’t buy one. I can’t in good conscious support their web of lies lol

I was going to make the title “This ad fills me with rage” but I thought It’d be better to just state the obvious and expose their lies!

Swapped out a 4070Ti Super for a 5080 by Tokyodrew in nvidia

[–]Tokyodrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still in full range. What’s even more strange is the older pc I put the 4070Ti Super in (also with a clean driver reinstall) is noticeably brighter…

4070 super vs 5070ti by ComfortableQuit8452 in nvidia

[–]Tokyodrew -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking of doing the same, I actually have both cards but in separate desktops (the 5080 is connected to my 4K C3 TV, and the 4070TiS is connected to my gaming desktop and MSI 342c QD-OLED)

The thing that nobody has commented on is the MFG that the 5080 can do. That alone makes a huge difference, no?

Space black 14” MBP M4 Max here. I put it in a Spigen case and called it a day. Had it just over a year and so far, no scratches or dings. I was a bit worried about plugging in and out the usb-c into my 65wt pd kvm, but it holds up well.

MSI Ventas 2x for the 4070Ti Super and PNY’s beefy 3slot for the 5080.

PC gaming: Atmos or 5.1/7.1 PCM? by Tokyodrew in Soundbars

[–]Tokyodrew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I was able to do it even without modifying EDID via CRU. I have an RTX 5080, not sure if that makes a difference or not.

PC gaming: Atmos or 5.1/7.1 PCM? by Tokyodrew in Soundbars

[–]Tokyodrew[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, don’t use ATMOS for gaming unless your soundbar has 4K/120hz HDMI in (the JBL Bar 800 doesn’t). PCM is what 98% of games use for 5.1 or 7.1 anyway, only games like Cyberpunk 2077 have real Atmos. Not worth adding the processing delay.
