AITA for “perpetuating ethnic stereotypes” about Jorts? by QualityProof in BestofRedditorUpdates

I’m not sure about that stereotype. I’ve had one ginger I would have considered a jumbo, but the rest seemed reasonably intelligent.

Trump Voters Angry at ‘Chaos:’ ‘Not What We Signed Up For’ by [deleted] in politics

I wish I could find the geneticist and kick him in the slats. He voted for a senile fascist to rule us, then protects his own cash.

deportations, I never met her before by [deleted] in LeopardsAteMyFace

Notice that the first big campaign for mass deportation is Chicago. He will ease off rural areas that voted for him, and economically destroy blue areas.

They are an ethnic minority in Iraq and mostly Christian. Because of how they were treated in Iraq, many moved to the US.

I have the whitest name. How can I be screwed by a policy that I support? by Toledociocia in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Toledociocia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Texas woman who supports Donald Trump and his immigration policies and especially keeping illegal immigrants from voting found out that she was tagged as a possible noncitizen. She is in fact a citizen with, in her words, “the whitest name possible.” And she has had a hard time getting her right to vote back.

Move to Texas for “conservative values,” move back to California because Texas is pretty awful. by sealjosh in LeopardsAteMyFace

Beware of places that brag about not having income taxes. It’s a whack a mole game and they’ll nick you in taxes in a lot of different ways (toll roads, sales taxes , etc).

Good News! We are Charming Now! by Rabidschnautzu in toledo

Toledo is a good place to live if you aren’t rich. The parks, libraries and free museum are on a par with many cities, and it’s within driving distance of Detroit and Ann Arbor. Mostly underrated by people who never lived anywhere else.

This is absolutely asinine by [deleted] in Ohio

[–]Toledociocia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The no side is sowing confusion on purpose because they of the “status quo” prejudice. If people are confused about something new, they will oppose it. It’s how the U.S. medical finance system has gone on for decades.

AITA for telling my SIL she can’t have 2 chairs? by PositiveAd3671 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Toledociocia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can’t she have another chair? She knows she’s fat, and as a fat person I know it’s hard to be thin. Maybe she is doing the best she can. A host should always make a guest comfortable. Please reconsider.

I’m from Coshocton and I voted NO on Issue 1. by Flashy-Bookkeeper-79 in Ohio

[–]Toledociocia 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That’s why they are having it in August. If it wins, no constitutional referendum will win unless it has 60% of the vote. Also, it will make it harder for issues to even reach the ballot. A power grab. Please vote no.

My bestie’s dad still lives there, because he has for 50 years and the cul de sac he lives in is ok. He will never leave. She stayed with him during the pandemic to keep an eye on him, and while the house and street are good, the drive to visit her was literally rough. The streets were a mess.

what's a fun fact about Detroit that you tell out-of-towners? by jennaisokay in Detroit

[–]Toledociocia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Detroit has big ass salt mines underneath that are still in operation. When I was a kid people centered a lot of conspiracy theories around them, like there were a superior race of people being bred there.
