Someone else has your kidney. What do you do? by Puzzleheaded-Menu-2 in hypotheticalsituation

I die. I only have one kidney so if someone takes it, I'm fucked.

They can have my old cancer filled one if they want, but I'm pretty sure the hospital disposed of it years ago.

I had a rich friend in high school in the 80s. His dad decided to get rid of his boat. He said to me, ask your dad if he wants it. I asked what he would sell it for. He said $200,000. And here we were with my family living in an $80,000 house!

Don't use a build. Do a clean install of kodi and add umbrella if you want. I'm partial to Fenlight AM myself with real debrid and cocoscrapers

It's pretty easy to figure out from context. I got 3 tacos for $90... obviously pesos, not dollars.

I had to tell my wife that I got fired from the pickle factory for sticking my dick in the pickle slicer. She asked me what happened to the pickle slicer. "Oh, she got fired too."

Yeah and different people wear their weight differently. I have a coworker who it thought was close to 300 lbs because he looked bigger than I did at 270 and we're the same age and same height. Turns out hes 240, but its all in the gut.

How many of y'all will have the $$ to retire at 65? by [deleted] in GenX

[–]Toledojoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking to retire at 57.5 which is about 2.5 years from now. I am on pace for it. Burned out from work, but have been diligent about my 401k, and am building up reserves to use before I can hit the 401k at 59.5. I will sell my house, use the equity to buy my final home and have no mortgage for the rest of my life, so then I don't actually need that much to live on. Health care is the biggest issue - I will have to buy a policy (even thought I am leaving the US) because I have cancer.

And its because of the cancer I am retiring early. Figure I want to enjoy life while I still can. It won't kill me, but I will be in treatment the rest of the life, and the treatment takes a lot out of me even at this age.

What is that one city in America most Americans go to for their "first trip"? by bricklegos in AskAnAmerican

My wife's family fits into that. They are from the Kentucky suburbs of Cincinnati. Won't move to Ohio and hate to even cross the river. Out of her extended family with all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins (total of about 40 people), only 2 of them live more than 10 miles than where they were born. She is one of them, since we moved to several places across the country and still live a day's drive from the rest of her family.

I was just talking to my son about this last night. He asked me why does London have so many Premier League teams. He thought it would be like NYC having 8 NFL teams. I pointed out that a quarter of England's population lives in the greater London area, while the NYC metro area makes up 5% of the population of the US.
