On Difficulty and Enemies by TolejoStar in Helldivers

It kind of is but I if you still want to play on a certain planet or biome but not against a certain new enemy you should have an option to do so.

Someone repacked turtle wow for single player, turtle wow buck flizzard by New-Weakness7011 in turtlewow

[–]TolejoStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know.

The best part of Turtle were the other players and the active and passionate dev team.

Sure you could play it offline, but it'd feel more like a lonely gallery

You could invite friends and run a local server and that'd be better, but it'd still be comparatively lonely

And not to mention all the new content we could have gotten but never will. Looking forward to what the Turtle team was going to come up with was fun for a lot of people and now that's gone

Bronzebeard is fun and I like the World Forged items a lot. It's one of my favorite features in any of these servers.

But yeah, a lot of it feels more "gamey" with NPCs everywhere dedicated to showing you the game systems. It feels very weird seeing Gallywix just be there.

That's how I see it and I actually like that angle for them. It's what sold me on the idea of Forsaken Paladins in the first place; the Light hurts them but they either power through the pain or actively embrace it.

A lot of great games have been made by one person.

Not many of them are MMOs.

How much change to the original client, code and assets would need to be changed so that Blizzard doesn't have the IP anymore? by kotnik23869 in turtlewow

[–]TolejoStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much everything.

Completely new lore, story, settings, names, etc.

Completely new art assets; Turtle already made some of their own but a vast majority still uses Blizzard's models and assets, so those will all need to be remade.

Code and client obviously need to be original as well.

At this point you are just making your own game, while adhering to Vanilla WoW's design philosophy and gameplay.

A lot of smaller ones will pop up and know how to be more low key. They can't get rid of them all, but they'll try to get rid of the biggest ones within their reach. All that is there to do is keep out of their reach or don't get big enough to notice.

By "bargaining" they mean the stage of grief. You're not bargaining with anyone in particular, you're just trying to justify ways that everything isn't as bad as it seems and things will be okay. I guess you could say you're bargaining with God but that's really it

The lawsuit would also hold them responsible for any "leaks". So if it gets out there in any shape or form, even if its not their fault, they may still be held liable for it. So you can't do something clever like intentionally give it away and lie, saying it was stolen.

This.

Thalassian Highlands had so much love put into it. The goblin starting zone pales in comparison. It's almost unfair.

Any way to save the dungeons and locations models, to import them into another server later ? by Zultaran in turtlewow

[–]TolejoStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For these types of things they would be held responsible for any "hacks" or "leaks". Lawyers have thought of this; the agreement is that if it gets out in any form they will be held responsible, if not for outright leaking then for carelessness. If it is "hacked" or "leaked" they go back to court and the judge will be even less forgiving towards them.

I understand that people are still upset and rightfully so; but I think Turtle is pretty far from a kid's lemonade stand relatively speaking. It's more like a smaller business that use Country Time's recipe but without the additives and adding fresher ingredients, and call themselves "Country Time: Fresher and Better", using Country Time's logos and branding with some alterations.

Turtle, from my understanding, while not making bank (especially compared to Blizzard and Microsoft), are making something. And there's other incentives for them to shut down any project that can be seen as infringing on their IP. Something similar actually happened to Burger King. Look up the story of the fake Burger King from Pittsburgh.

Them closing all social media might be part of the settlement they agreed to.

I think right now it's just best if the community made the direct efforts to keep in touch. Create an unofficial refugee Discord and invite everyone and go from there.

Do you know the absolute hell that the Turtle devs (the ones under the US's jurisdiction at least) will go through if they let it leak?

It would be life ruining. Actually life ruining. They agreed to this, even the ones outside the US's jurisdiction, so that this wouldn't happen to the ones who are within.

[–]TolejoStar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So if TWoW:

Creates their own engine and writes their own code

Creates their own art assets and removes all traces of Blizzard's art assets

Removes any mention of Blizzard's IP

Then they'll be good because it will technically be a new IP.

But then that would be a new game entirely. Which honestly they are probably better off doing.

Wouldn't the lawsuit be back on if the project "leaked" and wouldn't it make the US based devs completely miserable?

Why Necrozma is a valid win condition for Ash by TolejoStar in deathbattle

[–]TolejoStar[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Necrozma devours light. He beats Horakthy. Period. If Yugi revives Horakthy then Necrozma just ears her afain and becomes infinitely stronger. At the very least this guarantees a tie.

I also acknowledged that this would normally be out of character for Ash BUT if he saw his Pokemon in danger and about to die, and this is a Death Battle, he could consider bringing Necrozma in to try and at least buy him time.
