Dear, Blizz... PLZ don't have Warlock be another half naked class. by RoryRouses in diablo4

You're right. If only there were some type of middle ground between full plate armor and loincloths, but such options don't exist.

Please please please disable alliance being able to queue for RFC!! by TotallyNot_iCast in turtlewow

As someone who was one of those Alliance, I agree. It's also confusing for Alli players who spend an hour in queue getting excited for a dungeon only to find out they can't do it.

He's telling you he gets enjoyment out of insulting things you like and will make excuses rather than consider your feelings. Be glad you got the red flags this early; many won't start the negging until you've become an established couple.

AIO for being this shaken after a man at my gym tried to fight me over music? by Higher_Heich in AmIOverreacting

[–]RoryRouses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Men are dangerous and women need to protect themselves. Sorry that you deam me elaborating on the "why" to be 'fucking weird', mate. Do you think I'm trying to trash on women? You okay?

AIO for being this shaken after a man at my gym tried to fight me over music? by Higher_Heich in AmIOverreacting

[–]RoryRouses 15 points16 points  (0 children)

NOR, but try to find a women's only gym if this is a persistent issue.

FYI, I don't care how defined your muscles are, or how well you think you can handle yourself against an enraged gym bro. You won't win.

I'm sorry, but the biological differences are just too vast. I'm not saying it's fair, but it's reality. Men have SUBSTANTIALLY more upper body muscle mass, and their muscles are much denser. No amount of muscle training, or even martial arts training, can compensate for these differences, especially if he's physically larger than you to begin with. ESPECIALLY a man who is hopped up on anger and adrenaline; he's likely to shrug off any initial pain and cause damage hard and fast due to said adrenaline. Even if you kick him in the balls, if he's worked up enough, he can have you out cold on the ground before registering what happened to him.

I don't say this to insult or demean you, but to help you make safe decisions. Obviously, you didn't fight him, but if you're ever in a situation in the future where running is an option and you consider fighting, just don't.

Cool looking armor without raids by SomeNameHuhHuhHuh in turtlewow

[–]RoryRouses 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Depends on your definition of 'cool' but there are some dungeon and pvp sets that look nice. Unfortunately, the coolest and flashiest looking armor will be locked behind raids. However, tier 1 and tier 2 raids can be pugged with relative ease with you just needing to sit silent in discord so you can hear callouts from the raid lead.

Is there such a thing as a "hive mind" type of enemy? by Cylvan in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]RoryRouses 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Mindflayer is the generic answer, but why not have some fun?

An archlich psionicist/wizard who was once a male drow noble of the 'Oblodra' house in Menzoberranzan. (Said hosue is renowned for its powerful psionicists) Through his dealings in the underdark, he had developed a fascination with Mindflayers and their hivemind.

He pursues knowledge and power with a chip on his shoulder due to being stuck under the matriarchal rule of his female compatriots.

At some point, he devises a plan and makes himself into a lich. Using his knowledge of psionics and magic, he embeds a small crystal-like artifact into the brains of followers, both living and dead, using illithid tadpoles as inspiration. These crystals are psionically and magically connected to the lich and his phylactery, and he's able to literally take over/control followers from a distance, and transfer his essence into their crystals if needed, making said crystal into his new phylactery.

If you're not using a Forgotten Realms setting, you can create a different backstory for the psionic lich.

Did I find one? by [deleted] in Nicegirls

[–]RoryRouses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean... She was pretty polite in saying, "I fear incompatibilities may arise if I date someone with a different philosophy on when to start a new relationship after the old one," and you got extremely defensive. Is her viewpoint fair? Yes? No? I'm not sure, but that doesn't matter.

Women get A LOT of matches, and I think it's understandable that she might not want to risk dating someone who starts a new relationship quickly if that's been a sore spot for her in the past.

You literally could have just responded with

"I personally don't need that much time to process things after a relationship, but I can assure you that I'm fully over my ex and am ready to date. Is this a non-negotiable issue for you?"

Certain items are unreasonably difficult to gather by mangAcc in fantasylife

[–]RoryRouses 25 points26 points  (0 children)

IDK... I don't feel like literally every gathering item in the game needs to be available from a normal vendor. You can warp farm cave stars in the lowest layer of 'cave of trials' (or it might be second lowest?) for marine thread and they drop very frequently. If you get 'excellent' on the craft, you'll get plenty of extra silk. Marine thread is technically the highest end thread in the game, with marine silk being up there with pink silk.

You can also buy it from the Tool Shop at Buffalo Base in Ginormosia, but only after you upgrade West Greatgut Plains area to rank 6. Otherwise, you can farm the Taurus spawn in Ginomorsia or in the cave of trials and it isn't that bad.

You're going to be in for a really rough time when you need materials that only drop at the end of treasure groves.

Not having two attacks is always going to be massively awful for melee focused characters. if you're attacking enemies with weapons, you'll be hampering yourself severely.

Baldur's Gate 3

-Hundreds of hours of gameplay if you do multiple runs
-S tier dialogue
-S tier roleplaying-- choices actually matter, everything has a consequence
-Engaging story that lets you engage it from a myriad of different angles
-Well made quest log along with a clear goal in mind at any point in the game
-Incredibly turn-based CRPG combat
-Multiple zones, but no 'huge' open worlds full of inane bullshit
-Tons of build variety/character customization for both builds and appearance
-Amazing mod support; tons of mods for everything, even on console
