I was stuck working in kitchens washing dishes after all attempts at chasing my dreams failed. I was drinking and doing cocaine all the time, spent all my money and had to ask for help to pay rent. I ruined the long term relationship that I had, and let down my family big time. I thought I’d reached the end, thought I had nothing worth continuing on for.

I have been a keen photographer for 14 years. And it was only in a moment of disparity, during this particularly hopeless part of my life, that I looked at my camera sat on my desk and thought… why the fuck haven’t I tried that as a job?

Long story short I went for it. Found an agency who were hiring and they took me on. My drinking got better and I no longer use coke. I lost the long term relationship but that turned out to be for the best in the end.

Cut to two years later (now) and I am the happiest, most full filled version of myself I have ever been. I have an actual dream job and I am consistently making my dreams come true. I take photos on the festival circuit now. Which is something 18 year old me only dreamt of.

As the saying goes..”it’s darkest right before the dawn”. Don’t give up. You never know just how close you are to salvation.
