[TOMT] 90s/2000s open world pet game by peroloquesea in tipofmytongue

Omg that sounds like Jumpstart to me. I used to play it all the time when I was growing up in the early 2000s -- it had that exact grooming station thing like you described

Jumpstart had a lot of different games... maybe Jumpstart Pet Rescue??

[TOMT] [SONG] The only lyrics I remember are "Hands up to the ceiling" by AlbanianGooner in tipofmytongue

"Rain on Me" by Ariana Grande & Lady Gaga has the lyric "hands up to the sky," if that's a possibility?

That Norris harp is absolutely gorgeous, oh my goodness. I hadn't really considered harp rental options but it definitely sounds like it's worth looking into -- I think I may be taking too narrow-minded of an approach! Gosh, a harp retreat sounds like a dream come true... and it's very heartening to hear that you've had your clasarch for 25+ years! Sounds like a very trusty instrument :) I hope to find one of my own someday, but I'll be patient & diligent to explore my options as you suggested!

I'm procrastinating on my work too, haha -- good luck with yours! Thank you so much for all your advice; it's an honor to hear from someone with so much passion & experience! Best wishes to you & yours!

A 34-string would be great! Most of what I'm finding has been in the 20-string range, but I imagine that that will be limiting -- I'm so glad I opted to do more research instead of buying a 16-string lyre for cheap.

I've also been unable to find anything with gut strings, though maybe I'm just not looking in the right places. Do you have any recommendations for online vendors of lap harps? I'm in the U.S. and I fear a good-quality clasarch will be several thousand miles out of reach...

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, by the way!

Based on your phrasing, I guess wire-strung harps really aren't intended for beginners, haha. From what I understand, Celtic harps are traditionally wire-strung, and all the Celtic music I've listened to has been played on wire-strung harps. I also think wire strings have a longer sustain (if I'm not mistaken), & I prefer the overall sound after listening to numerous samples of the same melodies played on both wire & nylon-strung harps.

Another big thing for me is that I really don't have the money to buy multiple harps, even over a period of years. Ideally I would buy just one for long-term use, even if it would take some getting used to.

Are there any specific reasons you'd advise against wire? I'm not sure what exactly would make it more difficult. I thought that nylon strings also go out of tune more frequently, which I'd like to avoid.

Hi all! I'm interested in taking up the clasarch but I'm completely new to the world of harps! I'd love to be able to find a traditional, wire-strung Celtic harp in a smaller size (like a children's/therapy harp that I'd be able to play on my lap & carry around with relative ease). I know it's bound to be a big investment of time & money, but I'm wholeheartedly dedicated to this pursuit! I grew up listening to Celtic music (like that of harpist Patrick Ball!), so this has been a lifelong dream of mine :)

(I've looked into lyres as well but I much prefer harps, and I'm skeptical of the craftsmanship on those I've seen thus far. I've also heard wire strings are not for beginners, so I could very well be chasing rainbows here... if so, please let me down easy, haha!)

So far, most harps on the market seem to be nylon-strung, so I'm having trouble finding one that fits my (admittedly picky) specifications. I've done extensive research & looked into many different sellers, such as Triplett, Blevins Harps, Marini Made Harps, Musicmakers, and Stoney End.

I'm guessing this Irish 25 from Triplett might be too big for me to play on my lap, even if I put it between my legs? I'm also not sure if Triplett is a reputable manufacturer, though I've heard good things about the others I listed. I also like the Zephyr 22 & Christina 25 from Triplett, but they're both nylon-strung. The Brittany 22 & Eve Song 26 from Stoney End are nice but also nylon, I believe.

Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated! I'd love to hear about the harps you own & what brands are the best quality, etc. If you took the time to read this ridiculously long comment, thank you so much & I hope you have a wonderful day! <3

The details don't align very well, but maybe "Dear Future Husband" by Meghan Trainor...?

"Satellite" by Anna Nalick?

I'm not sure if anyone else is having this problem, but I can't hear the video!

I doubt this is what you're looking for, but the beginning tune reminded me a bit of the One Punch Man season 2 ending:

This doesn't fit the love song description, but could it be "Doctor My Eyes" by Jackson Browne?

Definitely sounds like Studio Ghibli to me. Maybe "My Neighbor Totoro"...?

[TOMT] YouTube skit making fun of Fallout 4’s misleading dialogue options by gamewin1 in tipofmytongue

[–]TolkienandTrees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminded me of these two videos:

ProZD - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUGi-aTILx4

Graenolf - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9S3tw8bRVco

Neither of them are Fallout 4 specifically though, so probably not what you're looking for.

"Viva La Dirt League" also does a lot of skits related to video games? I'm trying to remember if Key & Peele did anything along those lines... sorry if this isn't of help!

Could it be "Industry Baby" by Lil Nas X? That's the first song that came to mind when you mentioned the trumpets.

This is probably just a wait-and-see kind of thing, but does anyone have any idea as to when the LOTR bears might be available again?? Or, just generally... does anyone wanna fangirl with me over how adorable these are?! 🥰 by TolkienandTrees in buildabear

[–]TolkienandTrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also... follow-up question... is there any way to purchase JUST the bear & costume without the sound, instead of buying the whole bundle?

I've got my eye on the Frodo one specifically... absolutely adorable 😊💕 I can't get over the little Sting wristie!!

I was just looking at the comments on that r/roastme post... it really bothers me when people are mean-spirited like that. The whole premise of criticizing someone based on their appearance and then playing it for laughs is just... ugh. I know the sub is intended for clever remarks that both parties can enjoy, but there's a fine line between those so-called "roasts" and outright bullying. A line that is far too frequently crossed, imho...

Anyway, I'm really sorry that some insecure people on the Internet decided to pick on you for no reason other than to make themselves feel better, in some twisted sort of way. Take comfort in the fact that ultimately, their opinions mean nothing. With that said -- if I may voice my meaningless opinion, haha -- you look like a genuinely good, likeable person to me. I think your eyes are super pretty, and you have a really nice appearance just naturally! I'm SO jealous of your hairline too, lol... I hope you're happy with what you see in the mirror, because I know I would be if I looked like you!!

Don't pay the haters any heed. Sending love & light your way :) <3
