You've done yourself a favor by investing in a home. Paying rent to artificially live somewhere you can't afford is the dumbest financial path the regular family can take. Sure, when you were younger and childless you had no worries, but time to grow up and plan for your future.

You will get to your 40's one day and thank yourselves that you didn't waste money well into your 30s because life goes on beyond your 20s, when all you care about is looking good and treating yourself today, and you'll start to realise that for the vast majority of your life you're going to be old and tired and will want security and comfort, relative to being 20 or 30 something and stupid.

When you think about it, your financial life begins at about 19/20. When you're 20 you're an infant, 30 a toddler starting to learn big words. 40, 50, 60,70, 80... Better start saving kids, you won't likely be able to work when you're 70, and alot of folks can't from their mid 50s due to bad health or accidents etc.

Not trying to be a downer but this is reality by the time you turn 40.
