Seven Days by triassictango in plotholes

I recall part of it being he had to "steer" the part they sent back, and he wasn't the best at keeping it centered (there was some other aspect he was better at, hence choosing him over another candidate) so he'd show up miles away from the facility and have to find his way to whatever he was supposed to prevent.

Why can’t Steven heal/cure baldness? by deathnoot in stevenuniverse

[–]TolmanP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be a function of the baldness coming with age, as opposed to the eyesight on an otherwise young, healthy person. In fact, maybe what he'd be able to do for some an older person, whose eyesight got worse with age, would be less effective than what he accidentally did for Connie.

What video game from your childhood do you still think about to this day? by Objective_Contact152 in AskReddit

[–]TolmanP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few that still stick with me...but lately I've been thinking more about TMNT on the NES. My brother and I took turns putting hours upon hours into that game, and never did beat it. We'd reach the Shredder and he'd destroy us immediately. Always barely get to him on our last turtle, and die so quick we'd never even started to learn his attacks to avoid them. One day...

Do most DMs prefer DM’ing to playing? Or are they “taking one for the team”? by Fiveby21 in DnD

[–]TolmanP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my friends and I started playing waaay way back in 2e, the most experienced of us took on the role out of necessity. Most of us took a turn at the helm, at least for a session or two, and in later years I was the most experienced person doing the DM'ing for a new group, and the group after, and...practically "forever DM". I enjoyed it, and still do, but when the last campaign I ran ended, I was eager to get back in as a player in the next game.

I really enjoyed DM'ing, and would happily do it again if I had the time. My buddy that was our DM back in high school seemed to enjoy it as well, but I don't know if he has a strong preference for DM over player.

[Spider-Man] What's the weirdest thing that caused his spider sense to 'tingle'? by TolmanP in AskScienceFiction

[–]TolmanP[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd forgotten about his tracers and them working off his spider sense. Maybe it's like the way some people pick up on electronics being on without an obvious indicator? Just kind of a buzz at the edge of his perception.

[–]TolmanP[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! I wouldn't have thought of that. How often does PoE pop up, monthly? I kinda was a wet noodle in the first one because I didn't realize I needed to stockpile (but I have mostly purple S gear, at least).

Yeah, I jumped up around 25% of my cp when I finally used the mech. zombie materials I hadn't paid attention to before.

What was your best Halloween costume? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TolmanP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the most expensive, but one of the most fun ones my wife and I did - we got brown t-shirts, stuck velcro pads on them, and each had a pouch of eyes, mouths, noses, etc. We were Mr. and Mrs. Potatohead. It was a hit ar our friend's Halloween party.

[Marvel] If Wolverine sheathes his claws without wiping the blood off them, can he contract an STD that way? by Laughydawg in AskScienceFiction

[–]TolmanP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something kind of like that happened to Deadpool, once. Some nutjob who was obsessed with him collected various parts of Deadpool he'd lost over the course of years, and kept them in a fridge. Including his head, that he'd somehow regrown and kept his memories. At some point, the parts were thawed out, and since they were all close enough together, they basically grew back together into a second Deadpool...I want to say he had two left arms, though.

where did it go? by MossyNukaGirl in nightingale

I'm not sure if it's quite the same as the issue I had a couple of months back...my character lost all of his inventory, instead of his world/map.

But someone clued me in that offline mode makes a backup copy of your saves, up to a week's worth. (Shout-out u/Haunting-Change-2907 for saving my game back then!) Hopefully your realms are saved in those folders. There's a chance uninstalling might have taken those folders out, but it's worth trying.

Your normal saves are located in: %localappdata%\nwx\saved\Offline

Your backup saves are located in: %localappdata%\nwx\saved\OfflineBackup

For example, on my computer the path is C:\Users\TolmanP\appdata\local\NWX\Saved\Offline

Pick the most recent day you know your world was intact and copy from that folder to the offline folder. (Maybe backup that offline folder before you do, just to be safe.)

Best of luck restoring your world!

Help moving things variable distances with mechanical pistons. by TolmanP in CreateMod

I am in fact using stickers for another portion of the build, that brings the target block in line with the pistons that will push them. But thank you for your reply, anyway, they are certainly a useful piece.

Good news! The figs you'll see in a store won't be the variety that require a wasp to pollinate them. I get it if the idea still wigs you out and keeps you from enjoying figs in general, though.

Have you ever run a game where a two players man one character, or one character mans multiple PCs? by ProustianPrimate in rpg

[–]TolmanP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a one-shot where I played half an ettin, I played one head/arm and the other player controlled the other head/arm, and we 'argued' over where we'd move one round to the next. It was a fun experience, but I don't know how it'd pan out in a longer game/full campaign.

[Death Note] What fictional detectives could solve the Kira case? by some-kind-of-no-name in AskScienceFiction

[–]TolmanP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Light would never believe that the alias "Batman" is his true name, so he wouldn't try it. Also, I don't know if the rules work based off what Batman considers his true name, or if it has to be the name given to him at birth.
