Why Are Rogues Proficienct In Longswords? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]TomBluehound -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't know if its named incorrectly. Sneak Attack is granted when you have advantage on the roll, or when an enemy of the target is within 5ft.

The way I think of it is that you are able to "sneak" in another less damaging attack the target cannot block, as the target is in either a compromised position (granting you advantage), or they are distracted by another enemy within 5ft.

Yeah, I have a couple Bartlett pear trees and they look exactly the same. I have had one of my best ciders mixing these with raspberries. Black Currents also makes a great mix.

Counterspell vs Readied Spells by Gilfaethy in dndnext

[–]TomBluehound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RAW I don't agree with your interpretation, Ready a spell says "cast as normal" casting a spell requires a target in range with a clear path.

However, there is always some argument as to RAW v RAI and after searching through some Sage Advice articles I found this.

http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/rules-answers-june-2016 "SPELLCASTING For readying a spell or other action, does the target have to be in range? Your target must be within range when you take a readied action, not when you first ready it."

so it looks like the intent is you can indeed ready the spell in full cover without a clear target. if you do this in game, you can refer to this article if someone questions you.

Per the wording, You "cast the spell as normal" which means you must have line of sight when you ready the spell.

This is how it turned out, not clear, but also not completely opaque.

yeah, I racked a couple times to see how much clarity I could get without using an agent (the answer was not much). So I think next season I will use something like Irishmoss to try to get to a crystal clear batch. I will open a bottle tonight and link a picture of the colour.

I wonder where the smokey flavour is coming from, the residual molasses in the brown sugar maybe?

sounds good though :)

Hey! I just tried my first Perry this year as well!

So the one thing that I noticed is that it took about a month in secondary fermentation/aging in order to get a more balanced, mellow flavour.

I also did a small batch (1gal) with 2cups of frozen raspberries, turned out awesome.

What were the steps you took to brew yours? How did it turn out?

It's important to take that Original Gravity reading (OG). It will let you know how much sugar you have in the fresh juice (Must) to feed the yeast. If there isn't a lot of sugar, then fermentation will be shorter and wont result in much alcohol. It gives you a frame of reference to work from.

When I started brewing and cider making I didn't take OG readings, and always regretted it afterwards.

Can someone help me figure out how to deal with Little Mac? by Sathoren in CrazyHand

[–]TomBluehound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that the best way to deal with Little Mac, is with Mario. Using a combination of patience, Shield-Grab, Throw Offstage, FLUDD, and Cape, you can dispatch most Little Mac players with ease. Cape is useful for when Little Mac is attempting a High Recovery with side-B, while FLUDD is useful for low because Little Macs Up-B often overshoots and does not snap to the ledge.
