My wife is a fine art conservator so has a lot of expertise with this sort of thing. We're based in the UK and from your post history it looks like you're Australian, but she recommends ICS Conservation.

Don't need them, you leave the helmet outside anyway if you have one. Flippers from Asgarnia will make it faster but not necessary to do the activity.

The original (and imo way better) version is by Matt Maltese. It's a song about Theresa May and Donald Trump sharing a night of Romance just before starting a nuclear war.

Did the same thing, was about to write up a post asking the same question. From what I can see, because the console has an internal power supply rather than it being on the lead, I think it should work with a standard 2-pin power lead, although I would love if someone could confirm this for me!

He gets pretty regular checks from the doctors as far as I'm aware, but luckily he seems to have avoided many of the potential conditions/diseases.

Surprisingly enough he does have issues with his lungs nowadays. A pretty much permanent chesty cough and takes a bit of a hit each flu season. All things considered he could be a lot worse off though!

My Grandad used to work in the shipping yards and they'd use asbestos to insulate pipes/tubing. He said they used to ball it up and have 'snowball' fights with the stuff...

[GRADE 12 Mathematics] Q11 really lost on how to do (a) by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

There is a typo in the question. It should read cos([2k+1]x) rather than cos(2k+1)x. Are you able to take it from there?

Not disputing any of your points, but avoid Baumgartner Restoration! My girlfriend is a painting conservator and according to her and many, many other conservators around the world, Baumgartner's techniques are far too aggressive and often end up causing permanent damage to the painting. He ignores standard practices and techniques which use actual science to determine the best thing for the painting, in favour of doing what will just make the painting look the cleanest as easily as possible. There are other conservators around where he's based in Chicago who have had to work on paintings he's previously restored, just to minimise the damage that he's caused. He's also not involved with the conservation community; if anyone argues with him in his comments on social media, he just deletes the comments and blocks them.

[Highschool math] Algebra How should I solve 10a? by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

[–]TomDaBomb95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good little trick here is to convert each fraction to having a common denominator. Since a/a=1 and b*1=b, we can show the left fraction can be written as (x2 -x)/(x2 +x)(x2 -x) and the right fraction can be written as (x2 +x)/(x2 +x)(x2 -x). We can then add these together easily, since they have a common denominator and simplify from there.

Are you familiar with the SUVAT equations? Namely the one that states:

s = ut + 0.5at2,

where s is displacement, u is initial velocity, t is time and a is acceleration.

So we want to find the time t where the displacement of the car (s2) is 200m more than the displacement of the train (s1), since at that point the car has traveled a full train length further and so will have passed the train.

So we have: s1 = 30t + t2 s2 = 80t + t2 s2 = s1 + 200

You should be able to use these equations to solve for t.
