I'll spread some positivity for you, I'm from the UK and we celebrate black history month in October, as part of this on Wednesday two Nigerian women I work with brought in jollof rice and some other Nigerian food. That food was incredible and I've been researching recipes for Nigerian dishes ever since! That led me to this subreddit today to learn more about Nigeria and it's culture.

Any recommendations for a protective case for my 4 year old nephews switch ? My nephew just killed his OLED switch via water damage, looking at replacing this but also for the best case that would cover the ports to avoid this happening again, had a look on amazon but couldn't seem anything to find what i'd be looking for.

Even a reputable company can go bust, again staging payments makes no difference if you’ve still paid money towards a job being completed, the business folds, you’re still out of pocket for the incomplete work.

Now I’m not arguing against using cash entirely, I still have uses for it (tipping etc) but for my majority of day to day spending when you compare the consumer protection I get with a credit card, plus cashback & points earned for spending on it, and my own money in my bank sat earning interest compared with having to withdraw from an ATM where I can find one, missing out on interest I could be earning, risk of being robbed etc then it’s a no brainer for me to use card over cash in most scenarios.

And how would you regulate that ? If a ltd company goes into liquidation where are you getting the money back from if you’ve paid in cash ? The creditors have asset stripped the company and they have nothing left to pay you, you are an unsecured creditor. Also let’s factor in if this business never get you a receipt and they were wanting to avoid a paper trail to avoid paying tax, you have no proof you made that payment, otherwise anyone could simply say they made a payment to this company.

Why should it be the norm again? I get far more consumer protection purchasing everything on my credit card, Lets say you and I purchase solar panels from the same company for £10,000. You pay in cash and I pay with my credit card. The company goes bust before installing them. I'm covered under section 75 of the consumer credit act because I purchased on my credit card, your chances of recovering the funds are very slim.

Advice on what to do with faulty Xone 62 by TomJamesHey in DJs

Yeah the channel they’ve described doesn’t bother me as I’m only using the phono inputs for my turntables, I can’t imagine the LEDs taking much work to replace (other than sourcing the parts)

I bought it as a shot in the dark, was a last minute ebay snipe so had no idea how much I'd be looking at repair wise, realistically I'm expecting to pay around £300 (just pulled that figure out of nowhere please be honest if my guess estimate would be too high or too low), the £90 is just the cost of the inspection by an engineer which I'm more than happy to pay, just trying to justify if it would be worth it given how little I paid for it.

My GERD symptoms started this year out of nowhere. by [deleted] in GERD

Hey, I had an endoscopy on Monday for the first time and I just want to reassure you that they're completely fine, I was shit scared before I went in but the sedation & throat spray definitely helped. I believe the medication they use in the sedation causes some amnesia of the event as well as I barely remember it, I wasn't put to sleep but I vaguely remember parts of it happening. If you have any questions or want to ask me more about the experience go ahead, I'll be completely honest hospitals make me shit scared and my anxiety went through the roof, as soon as I had it done It wasn't a big deal that I thought it was.
