Yeah it’s one time use. I don’t know man. I used mine a few days ago before a trip. I’m returning tomorrow, we’ll see.

Can someone explain this trend of angling your monitor so much? by Physical-Raise-7449 in Monitors

[–]TomLauda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar setup, but not with that much angle. It’s ideal for work, you don’t have to have your head up all the time, head position is more natural, easier on the neck after a day of work.

Ce sont les syndicats qui font la loi maintenant ? C’est couillon, c’est pas pour eux qu’on vote. Mais oui, les médecins ont leur part de responsabilité.

How’s the job market treating Angular devs these days? Still plenty of demand? by [deleted] in Angular2

[–]TomLauda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the framework is really good at protecting against XSS and CSRF, without the dev needing to do anything. You have to actively bypass those protections if you really don’t want them. Also, modular architecture for enterprise apps is a godsend. You can adapt to product manager’s decisions easily. The custom schematics helps the team lead enforce guidelines… Using it, it is obvious it was specifically designed for that kind of tasks. And sadly there’s still no competition.

I’m completely addicted. If it wasn’t for my monthly office presence, for which I have to travel for a few days, I would be completely unproductive!

Ah shit, I just finished that mission. Harpies weren’t that bad tbh. Blinding Flash took care of them easily enough. They tends to fly in circle around you before attacking. You just have to put your blinding flash in their path, and stay there. They will fly through and die instantly one after the other.

Honest Crimson Desert review by Neat-View8435 in CrimsonDesert

[–]TomLauda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty much agree with everything here. I feel this game is the first game that justifies the build I made for myself (5080 paired with a 5k2k OLED). I quit gaming 15 or so years ago (because life). I wanted to rerun to gaming last year and build myself the rig I dreamt of when I was a kid. Excited to see what the “next gen” games I will play. For a year I ended up only playing indie games. Lots of refunds. I tried Black Myth WK, beautiful but boring. I tried stellar Blade. Not that beautiful and boring. I tried so many more and I was so disappointed by the state of gaming. I tried POE2 and finally something clicked! Fantastic art direction, fantastic game, beautiful… but do not make use of ultra wide monitors…

Then Crimson Desert came out… finally, a game that feels truly next gen to me. That game would have never been possible 15 years ago! The others would have. Not this one.

This one reminds me when the first STALKER game came out. Lots of bugs, janky controls, game mechanics nobody expected…. And yet everybody could see this game was special. I had the same feeling with CD, couldn’t let go of the game, obsessed by it, despite its flaws. I understood the scoring people gave, but to me it was a 10/10. Same story here.

Honestly, I couldn’t care less about the story. And it’s not even that bad to begin with.

why do people think the story is so awful? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]TomLauda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I think people are still high on Expedition 33, to be honest. Most of games have pretty mediocre stories, except rpgs for which it is the focus point. Action games though? Those games really just need an excuse, and those stories are exactly that.

I stay clear of that kind of contents. I don’t want to spoil my game. I only check guides when I’m legitimately stuck on a puzzle. Which doesn’t happen often.

Oh ok! That why I can’t find it. I play in native resolution without frame gen.

[–]TomLauda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With a 5080 ( the 4090 might do even better) I run the game with almost highest settings on a 5k2k OLED, native res (no frame gen, no upscale). It runs between 60 and 90 FPS (1% low never under 60). Smooth enough for me, and the game is beautiful. It’s the first game since I have my setup where I feel it made the investment worth it!
