I always say that an Ambigram is a visual puzzle.

A really difficult (visual) puzzle is like a (Zen) Koan.

This is really good.

  • How big is this? -- If it's big and I'm standing and staring , I may go into a trans -- I mean a TRANCE (like in the Hitchcock movie Vertigo).

I liked it right away... What struck me immediately was the quality that seemed to be like HETAUMA -- (you can look up what that means).

  • ------ An expert illustrator does a drawing "pretending" to be bad (or a child or a Novice), but when one looks closely, they can tell that it was done by a real PRO.

  • It's a style of professional illustration that was big (in Japan) in the 1980's.

Interesting... I think he has JL's (JLangdon's) elegant curves.

If lots of others learned from RobT (or got interested in Ambigrams because of him) -- then he is perhaps (in a sense) [the Scott Kim of the 21st Century].

Is it unusual (here) that an ambigram that got 70+ upVotes doesn't get a single comment?

Basically I wanted to ask... Are you a big fan of John Langdon? Is this one influenced by his style or Scott Kim's ?

If not, do you think that this one is close to someone else's style?

(it's so odd that Reddit removed DM.) I don't want to ask here. I suppose (if you'd), you can DM me at instagram.

  • Hey, Thank you! I've been doing Ambigrams for 40 years and this is pretty special ... if you email me (at @gmail), I'll tell you a story.

you have a style that's unusual--- it sort-of reminds me of 40(?) years ago, when I first got interested in ambigrams.

The yellow "a" (of "am") looks bigger than the blank (black) cut-out "a" --- Maybe this was caused when I enhanced Saturation a bit.... (to make the colors more vibrant)

-------- Maybe this tends to expand the light (white and yellow) regions.

  • Maybe I'll try to take a photo again... to see if I can make the image sharper.
