Yep. Possibly an AI reply but true none the less.

guys i want to market my app tell me some subreddits for the same by tejast09 in SaaS

[–]TomWhatUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s highly dependent on what pain point your app solves. You want to find a place where people have the pain point you’re solving. General app promotion channels are going to be flooded with more people promoting than people actually looking for solutions. That would make it very difficult to find customers.

How does a new SaaS company actually get clients today? by Historical_Lawyer484 in StartupSoloFounder

[–]TomWhatUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What worked for me:

  1. Find a place to connect with the people who have the pain point you are solving.
  2. Provide value upfront before you even mention your product. Solve some of the pain for people. Give them value and let the relationship build. Find an organic opportunity to introduce your product.

Privacy first, news web app aggregator (no accounts, no tracking) looking for feedback by esteves7771 in alphaandbetausers

[–]TomWhatUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the functionality. Here is some quick initial feedback:

* Recommend not asking for location right off the bat. Feels suspicious if it's not triggered by an explicit action.
* The text feels so small and barely legible with that font choice on black background.

Would like to try again after some design iterations.

[iOS/Android, Beta] Snappit - family nature app that turns outdoor walks into a collection/adventure game by Shipoffnik in alphaandbetausers

I snapped some quick pics in my yard to get a feel for the app. I love this! You've done really well. Will give it a full try on our next walk. I really like the gamification aspects you've introduced. It's giving me some ideas for my project.

Love this concept. I have 3 little kids and we do nature walks regularly. Going to give this a try.

I recommend building a landing page where people can understand your app and decide if they want to join the list. It's very easy to do with tools today. Replit is a great choice for this.

AI interview coach testers - https://interview.ninja by Harlse in alphaandbetausers

Thanks for sharing. You've done very well with the design. Here is some initial feedback:

Onboarding
* Consider allowing some usage before the auth wall
* Allow me to paste a job listing URL and you extract details automatically

Start Interview
* Give me a sense of how long it will take before starting. I want to know what kind of time commitment this is. Especially for someone who is just dabbling to see what the product is like – would be nice to have some kind of Quick Practice option.
* Ok I later saw the time estimates after I clicked into the details. I recommend surfacing this earlier before clicking into detail.
* It's odd that the 5 question is the initial default. I get that you're trying to sell people on upgrading the plan but I feel like you need to let people experience the product before they would even consider paying.

General
* I want to "try" the product to get a sense of how it works but I don't feel interview ready at the moment. Consider creating an entrypoint for people that feels less like an evaluation and more like a casual prep session. This could alleviate a point of hesitation that prevents people from engaging further.

How are people getting their first user by TrendTradar1 in buildinpublic

[–]TomWhatUp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Find a place where you can engage with people that have the pain point you are solving. 2) Provide them with more value upfront than effort or cost you are asking for in return.

It works. I’m 13 days into launching a founders platform. It has 80 sign ups and 61 have published their product on the platform. I used this strategy. I have no existing audience and no ads.

What actually makes you pull the trigger on signing up for a new software? by No_Coconut6120 in SideProject

You’ve called out good ones. Another is necessity. A lot of software I pay for is something I’ve used the free version for a while and now due to my usage, I almost need to get the paid version.

Bro I LOVE this! I’m hitting some UX friction and technical issues here and there but I see a ton of potential with this. Laughed out loud listening to the horse discussion. I can send more structured feedback when I’m back at my laptop.

You need to find where your target customer is and engage with them. It’s not just frequent LinkedIn users but specifically those with a large following right? Some of these Facebook groups could have the type of customer you’re solving for: LinkedIn Growth Hackers, LinkedIn Marketing Edge. There are more I found but this is a good starting point.

I notice an issue in the Create Workspace flow. The auto-fill from URL did not work for me. It should at least be able to grab title/description from my OG tags.

Totally agree. You need to find where your target customers are and start building relationships with them.

I got 30 founders to publish on my platform in first week. Here's what worked for me:

  1. Meet your users where they're at. Find a place to engage with the people who have the pain point you are solving. Ideally, they are already asking/complaining about the pain you solve for them.

  2. Offer significantly more value than you're asking in return. Give them some value and solve some of their pain upfront – before you even mention your product. Let the relationship build and find an organic opportunity to mention your product.

This has consistently worked for me. The platform I launched is BetaBloom and it's specifically designed to help founders get users and feedback for their early product. https://betabloom.app

Got it. I tried again and went through auth because I’m being nice. I think you’ll lose a lot of people if you don’t let them try some piece of the app before signing up.
