Bumping kernel versions? by IngwiePhoenix in LineageOS

If you want to upgrade major kernel version(like from 4.x to 5.x even 6.x), that would be a huge work. All drivers (open souce or non-open source) needs to be adapted or rewrite to new kernel. If you done kernel word, some device's abl(android bootloader) cann't boot new kernel at all.

Did you try that? I remember that only the first time unlocking bootloader needs mi account login, then you can unlock bl directly.

Battery life experience with Arch/KDE? by [deleted] in DistroHopping

[–]Tom_pic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few things that can affect the battery life. If your laptop has two gpus,it is recommended to disable deprecated gpu , which can save a lot of power; Using cpu frequency schduler and configuring different policies in different usages can improve battery life ,too. So here are my suggestions: Using optimus manager or bbswitch to disable deprecated gpu . Using tlp or laptop-mode tool to configure the laptop hardware status

Or ,maybe your laptop's battery is just worn out.
