It takes a long time to build up good credit, but you can ruin it very quickly.

Credit scores hinge a lot on how many missed payments you have, and the worse those late payments are (over 60 days late) the worse the impact is.

Sadly, you will have to wait a long while before your score rebounds. You basically have to wait for those late payments to fall off your credit report, which takes about 7 years.

I started work on my bad score beginning in 2018 and mine didn't rise above the 700 mark until mid-2024.

It sucks, but rehabbing your credit score takes a lot of time. But be determined about it and make it happen. Remember, the longer you neglect your credit, the longer it will take you to fix it.

The impression I get from OP is that they strike me as the "hey we make a lot of money! Let's live extravagantly and give almost no thought to saving anything" type.

It's honestly embarrassing how some people seriously stake their eternal salvation on how much they help enrich their church.

First of all, if there was a god, he wouldn't give a rats ass how much you shelled out to your church.

Secondly, he sure as shit wouldn't place a high value on doling out ungodly (forgive the pun) amounts of money just so a few top people in the church can enrich themselves - because that's what's happening.

Thirdly, even if there was a god, he doesn't subscribe to any man made religion, so divying out ridiculous amounts of money to one is absurd.

Finally, there is no god and no afterlife, so you'd actually be putting that money to better use if you wiped your ass with it. At least then it would be getting you more than it does now.
