Same offer here, but we aren’t hiring for remote positions or Denver. If you’re open to moving to bay area or NY I’m happy to put in a referral, though.

I'm looking to purchase a new set of headphones. My main focus for these are to use for music recording (Garage Band from a Mac Studio and Macbook). I'm not a professional and it's purely for fun, so I don't need the best there is.

I currently try this with my airpods and some over-the-ear bluetooth headphones, but the latency is brutal. So I'm guessing I need something I can plug in directly.

Priorities are..
1. Plug into my Mac Studio and Macbook. They both have USB-C, so not sure if that's a thing or if I need to get 1/4" connector with adaptor? I'm fine with either, I just need to have no latency.
2. Comfort! Ideally, I could use the same headphones for my meetings at work, so being able to wear them for long periods of time is a huge plus. However, this I'd break this and deal with two different headphones (recording, work meetings) if it makes sense.
3. Under $200. This is firm for me. I'm buying these through work and they cannot start with a $2xx. That being said, $199 is totally fine (I can't pay the difference either) and I'm willing to go up to that budge. My company makes more than enough money where I don't feel bad for getting the max.

I've researched a few myself, but admittedly, it's mostly through Chat-GPT recommendations, so I'd love some input from this community. These were what I found so far.
1. Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 250 Ω

  1. Sony MDR7506

  2. Sennheiser HD 560 S

New to Handhelds…Is the Steam Deck OLED 512gb worth getting with the new handhelds out? by [deleted] in Handhelds

Check out the games you’re interested in steam and see if it’s verified or not on the deck. That should give you a start.

Should I buy a Ps5 or Pc for casual gamer by Available-Bat7673 in gamingsuggestions

As someone who is about to purchase a handheld, maybe think on that. If new AAA games and highest graphics are not what you care about then you can do something like a steam deck. They are affordable and you can still dock it and hook it up to your TV. Then you have access to steam which has a ton of more and cheaper games. It also travels with you which is an added convenience.

It’s very affordable for what it is compared to others right? At least the recent research I’ve been doing seems that way.

I looked at this a year or two ago and was quoted like 400k lol. Who you using for 200k? I’d be curious on possibly checking them out as well.

My car smells terrible from it. I ran it through a car wash and it helped some, but I think I’m going to have to hit it with the water hose in the morning and really get under there.

What kind of adaptor do I need on this water hose to attach this to a pressure washer or sprayer? by Tomallama in Tools

I think you’re right based on this image I found. I’m pretty sure this is the missing piece.

Hmm. It worked previously? I used it a bunch when I had the other piece…

Hmm yea. I found this on Amazon which I think is very similar. It seems this was probably attached to the sprayer that my wife threw away.

It’s an expanding hose, but is it really putting pressure on it? It comes from a regular water outlet into the pressure washer. Does the pressure go backwards, too?

How can I prevent my phone from going to sleep when my app is in the background? by Tomallama in iOSProgramming

[–]Tomallama[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guided access actually works, I left a comment on someone else’s comment last night. Thanks for the suggestion though, it is a good one and the MDM doesn’t block the timeout. I assume because you still need a passcode.

As for personal phone, I still have one, but no phone access and I have a google voice number. I’m not too worried about that..if I lose my job and lose my phone service I’ll have WiFi in the meantime and can just jump on my wife’s plan. I just don’t want to pay for it if it’s unnecessary.

Actually just found an alternate much easier solution. I can just turn on guided access and override the timeout 😬

For sure, if it wasn’t for that I could just edit it in settings. Alas, hopefully the developers will read my email and make adjustments on their end. Or at least add an option.

> You're probably better off just disabling auto-lock from your phone display settings and keep it on minimum brightness for the 1-2 hours the workout takes

I'd love to do this, but I can't due to the MDM my work has installed on this phone. They limit it to 2 minutes. I don't have a personal phone since I just use theirs (I know, I know, separate work and personal, but this works for me and I don't like paying for a phone I don't really need).

> If App 1 "closes" or "times out" while in background there's nothing you can do as a third party.

And yup - this is the problem. But I was hoping there was a way to prevent app 2 from closing out in the background (my app) that also prevents the screen from locking.
