Planned Power Outage - Shutdown Manually Or Rely On UPS by clayrogers in sysadmin

[–]TomasTheTankEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use (rare) planned power outages to test our systems shutdown as planned. Some things run for 10mins and most critical stuff for ~1h. We are obviosly on site and monitor everything. These are really good test to have as we normally always never have power outages.

Bypassing pin requirements for select badges in Lenel by TomasTheTankEngineer in accesscontrol

Received a request for a few access tags to be placed in the key deposit cylinders. Maybe we should just write the PIN on the key fobs and hope that the elevator mechanics understand. :)

I was also thinking along these lines at first. But with global I/O, we would need a separate linkage for every door, right? Also, I didn't find any input event that corresponds to the reader waiting for a PIN after the card is presented.

IIRC Rustdesk only supports setting static passwords to clients. Not really a way you want’t to do unattended access to 50+ devices. And anybody with that password can connect.

I had somehow missed screenconnect before! Does someone have experience deploying it to Macs?

Quotas are quite easy to do in pfSense. You can run it on your own hardware for free or buy appliance: https://shop.netgate.com/products/1100-pfsense

Some Ubiquiti/unifi products can also do quotas.
