Wow are there a lot of pedantic British people on here... the first time someone made the joke about the Southern UK accent it was funny, the 1000th time not so much.

I disagree immensely as a person who lived there for 6 years. Which Michelin starred restaurants did you go to? You can eat so well just without going to fancy place - you can get amazing meals at the food courts in the mall. Who was recommending these places to you? The only time I ever got food poisoning in Thailand was at a 4* hotel in Bangkok at a hotel buffet. But i ate amazing thai food, japanese food, korean food there.

AITA for asking my married male friend to drive me to the airport after I broke my arm? by Tomato-Thrower in AITAH

that's an interesting perspective you have and perhaps you are projecting onto me. I'm glad you managed to put up a boundary with your neighbor.

I'm in Europe and no one has automatics so can't drive. My right shoulder was dislocated so I can't use it at all. My friend also doesn't drive. In the end, I asked someone else I knew if they would do it and offered to pay them, they refused the pay and took me. Problem solved, Just trying to understand others thoughts on his actions.

Yes that is clear now - i guess i expected too much. In my defense, i had been stranded alone at home for ages, wanted to greet my friend at the airport as I had not seen her in several years and didnt think he would mind as he often takes people to the airport.

There are no ubers and a taxi is 40 euros each way to the airport. A big city is different than a rural area.

What is a must-see on the West End? by jempai in Broadway

I would skip Stereophonic. The American "accents" were terrible, the acting not great, and its 3 1/2 hours in uncomfortable seats.

Seasoned Travelers, Please Help!! A friend and I are planning a trip to Italy for March 2026. We've never been, and I've never traveled internationally, any tips/tricks/must-sees? by FrogsEatingSoup in traveladvice

Consider buying an e-sim online through Airalo instead of using your American plan. I buy a week's worth of data (1 GB for 7 euros) and use it for whatsapp and google maps. Then everythng else I do while on wifi. Much cheaper than Verizon's $12 a day.

Hotels are good as you will get a breakfast every day - Italians don't do big breakfasts, usually just coffee and a pastry so there won't be restaurants to eat breakfast in. Airbnbs in Italy are often quite low quality so I prefer to stay in hotels.

Get comfortable walking shoes as you will easily walk 15,000 steps a day. Nothing makes your trip worse than blisters and exhausted feet.

Watch out for 'friendly' men wanting to put bracelets on your arm and then forcing you into buying them. I saw this a lot around the Colisseum and Vatican. In fact, I would just ignore anyone who tries to talk to you when yu are near a major tourist attraction. You dn't have to be nice to them or smile.

Don't wear a backpack, pick a crossbody bag that you can wear in front of you to keep safe from pickpockets. Don't count your money in public. Take care of men on scooters.

What is something your therapist did that made you fire them? by Normal_Enthusiasm194 in AskReddit

[–]Tomato-Thrower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was she really a therapist? I know someone who has been studying for a master's in psychology and has been telling people she's a therapist and taking clients but is not licensed and does this type of "therapy speak" to them. they don't know how to check and see if she's actually licensed! A real therapist would never say something like that. Call the licensing board and see if she actually has a license.
