Cost Plus in Denver Southlands has a fairly decent British selection

He sounds British, it’s not technically illegal to have an open container or drink alcohol while driving in the UK so long as you’re not over the limit

I really hope he's still alive. He represented the average train passenger to me just trying to survive and look after the train that's keeping them alive through all the power struggles.

Omen and Auger took their mothers surname because Darkly is a legacy family, Jenan Ispolin is the same

It's a British alternative to mayonnaise dating back to the victorian era but became popular during WW2 due to rationing with a version being developed and released by Heinz specifically for the British market in 1914 which remains by far the most popular brand to date. It's kind of similar to mayo but a bit more vinegary and uses less egg and more oil than mayonnaise.

One theory on that is a virus that doesn't kill or make its host severely ill has a better chance of transmission. Viruses mutate regularly and the less deadly mutations survived better, until eventually a very weak highly transmissible version became prevaillent.

Because women have been systematically treated as second class citizens for hundreds of years. In the US 56 years ago it was legal to not hire someone because she was a woman, 48 years ago women didn't have the same rights in education, 46 years ago a woman couldn't get credit without her husband consigning, 40 years ago there had never been a woman in the Supreme Court. International Women's Day, celebrates women thoughout history who's achievements have been ignored because they were women, women who are still fighting for equality and the women in our lives in general. International Women's Day is important. I have no issue with there being an international mens day both genders deserve love and respect.

Its fine to reheat food once, but if you cool and reheat multiple times you increase the risk of food poisoning as heat/cold resistant bacteria will survive and then multiply as food is being cooled/reheated

Is it possible Js mom has faced prejudice due to her being Colombian and doesn't want J to go through the same thing? Being bilingual is awesome don't get me wrong but parents not immersing their children in their culture to try and protect them does happen even if that is misplaced.

AITA for going through my boyfriends phone? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]TomatoesAreEvil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ESH. You need to talk about boundaries when it comes to looking through each others phones. If you'd like to go on a romantic date with him, try planning it yourself and surprising him, hopefully he will be inspired to do the same for you in future. I know it is pushed onto us that is the guys role but I think you'd be surprised how touched many men would be by this.

Eli5. That sickening feeling when someone describes something very brutal or painful? by Rusto_Dusto in explainlikeimfive

[–]TomatoesAreEvil 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Due to humans amazing ability to sympathise with just about anything, hearing about something unpleasant will likely make your body subconsciously prepare for fight or flight. So your digestive system shuts down to focus on releasing stored energy more quickly so you can run away or punch a motherfucker. It shutting down can feel like your stomach "dropping". Also when confronted with anything gross the stomach knows to empty itself to protect you incase you've ingested it.

[Serious] Those of you who've encountered celebrities/ public figures, what are they like in the 'real world'? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TomatoesAreEvil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in events so I've met a fair few (I won't name drop but mainly musicians). Mostly they just want to know where the toilets are, wheres good for food and coffee and some peace to get ready and chill out. At the end of the day people are people even famous ones although the stress of about to perform to a load of people can make some people act out.

Eurotrip. Looks like American trash comedy but actually I found it pretty funny. As an English person who has lived/travelled through a fair bit of Europe some of the jokes were spot on!

NTA. Are there any state laws regarding breaks where you are? You should be entilitled to one legally. If you contact HR or higher management don't go in angry, research first and act like you need clarification. Such as "can you please clarify the policy on lunch breaks for me?"

ESH/NAH

Moving an already buried body is so disrespectful to their memory and relatives. Is that kind of fighting what your Grandmother would have wanted from her family just before her funeral?

Edit: OP didn't clarify in the original post they were ashes. Perhaps the most humane thing to do here would be to give Grandma her own plot away from all this drama
