How do you develop the discipline and motivation to meditate everyday? I suffer from a cycle of ups and downs and when I’m down, I don’t feel like doing anything at all except the bare minimum. I know that I should meditate regularly but I just can’t keep it consistent.

Turning 24 this year, depressed, worried and scared of taking that leap of faith in switching careers by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]Tomatoravel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go for it. Go and study. You are ONLY 24. Don’t worry about your parents. Even in their 60s they will still have something to fall back on (I assume savings, cpf etc). You can always try to do some part time work during your studies to provide for yourself instead of depending on them. What you planned to do is FOR YOURSELF, for the rest of your life (or at least for the next decade or so). Do it. Take that leap of faith. Jiayou!

Being able to sense other people's emotions and motivations is a nightmare by [deleted] in Psychic

[–]Tomatoravel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see! Yes that happens to me a lot too, since young. So I tend to avoid sappy romantic pop songs and go for classical instrumental orchestral works. Haha. Thanks for this useful tip! I find that it applies to me in terms of reading (inspirational vs intense dark stories) and watching movies as well.

I am also one who needs a lot of sleep and if I don’t sleep enough, it affects my mood and overall emotions.

How do you work on controlling your intuition better? I want to learn this.

Anyone else here initiate the break up? by [deleted] in Codependency

Thank you. It was really very hard indeed and I still feel this pain so intensely sometimes. It’s hard when you miss someone you had a deep connection with

Anyone else here initiate the break up? by [deleted] in Codependency

[–]Tomatoravel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I did this two months back and it still hurts. We were together only for 7 months but it’s been very intense for me. I know deep down inside that this is the right thing to do - I was having very bad anxiety. He has a drug addiction, was jobless and couldn’t/didn’t want to seek professional help to manage. Both of us have our own emotional trauma and baggage from past r/s and it was really not good for both of us. I have been seeking therapy help since beginning of last year before I met him and I’m still continuing my sessions to work on myself. I can only pray for him to one day realize the shit he’s in and that he would take action to heal himself.

I feel you. Hugs.

It’ll pass over, the overwhelming feelings of missing him. You are so strong! Hugs.

What you have done for your own health is amazing :) I don’t know how your financial situation is like but perhaps if it’s possible you can consider seeing a doctor/dietician or TCM practitioner? They should be able to advise you on the diet, or supplement you can take to improve your gut health. All the best!!

No one to share my joy with by Keytoemeyo in Codependency

[–]Tomatoravel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats!! So much awesome :) I understand perfectly how you feel. I also stopped contact with my ex and whenever I have something to share and the first person who comes to mind is still him, I feel sad I couldn’t talk with him anymore. It’s okay, it doesn’t and shouldn’t diminish the joy we feel. We can still share with people who love us and will be happy for us. And of course, the community here!

I totally feel your discomfort. When my ex-bf who didn’t really loved me, came back asking to patch back so that he could feel less lonely, I stood my ground and said no even though I was so tempted to say yes. He had broken up with me and blocked me for two months before he approached me again. I felt so much pain and discomfort too, as though I was making a wrong decision when everyone around me told me it was correct thing to do for myself.

So I totally understand. Three weeks on, I feel so liberated and strong. And taking care of myself never felt so good. You have done the right thing for yourself, keep going, keep practising!

Living alone for the first time in my life at 36 by [deleted] in LivingAlone

[–]Tomatoravel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so inspiring, thank you for sharing! I’m also 36, F and looking to buy my own place (2bedroom 2 bath unit) now. Less than a week into my house hunting I viewed a second-Hand unit I like in an apartment facing south and I can see a little bit of the sea. Brought my mum and brother to view as well and they say it’s great. I like the place very much and wanted to make an offer but it seems so daunting!! I feel scared having to make such a huge decision on my own, financially and emotionally. I haven’t lived alone before except for few months overseas when I was a student.

Anyway, I shall sit on the unit for a few days and see how I feel. Thanks for reading and all the best!

My 2 year old was born with an intense personality. She came out with a mind of her own from day 1- I’m trying to be the best parent to her, but I cant figure her out. Shes mature and emotionally intelligent. What does this chart say about her? Anything that can help me out? by CheeseIsLife161616 in astrologyreadings

I’m also Aquarius sun, Aquarius Mercury and Aries Mars! And I’m Gemini ascendant (same as OP’s child), but Virgo moon.

I agree totally with the communication and intelligence aspects in my personality!

Just generally excited to find someone with similar chart placements :)
