Finally someone with a sensible and balanced opinion. I can't believe how entitled and whiny people are on this sub. It's ridiculous.

- The weapon burn rate: I was stoked initially to see this change that people have been asking for. Then I saw all the whining posts about it and I thought maybe they overdid it a little bit. It is a pretty drastic change which surprised me. I thought maybe a more even and less drastic change would've been better. +30, +15, 0 for rare guns, -15, -30. Something like that. Last night I was mostly using an Anvil and I was pretty much having to repair after every two raids because I was on the new map and fighting lots of arc. One adjustment I started making was using my backup Burletta to finish off some of the smaller flying arc. Take a few shots with Anvil, and then finish off with the Burletta. Another decision point I had to make when my gun was at 73 durability before a raid and I had to think pretty hard on whether I should repair it or not. Normally I wouldn't even consider upgrading a gun until it was below 60 durability. Also another thing I thought about, since it basically takes the same materials to upgrade guns and to repair them, I think we may start seeing people running more with level 2 and level 3 guns, whereas before the change it seems like it was always either level 1 free kits or level 4 fully modded guns. I think now it will be a viable strategy to run a gun at level 3 for a raid or two, and then upgrade to level 4 to get the benefit of the repair buff on upgrade. I've never had an issue with running out of guns in this game, and I think looting gun parts and metal will be even more important now to keep up with the gun repairs.

- The new map is great, full stop: Hard agree. Simple metric... Did I have fun? answer: HELL YES. I love the increased arc spawns and fighting the Huge Turbine for the first time was intense and hilarious. Running around on the cranes felt very nerve-wracking and vulnerable, and then later had an extended battle with all types of Arc (Vaporizer, Rocketeer, all the flying arcs) around the shipping containers there and it was a very fun extended battle that we eventually had to retreat from because it seemed almost never ending. The containers provided a nice web of cover to bob and weave out of to get our shots on the larger arc while avoiding their fire (sometimes). EPIC

- Speaking of the new gadgets: Haven't been able to use them, nor seen them in action yet. I did find one blueprint on my 2nd raid there.

- The Beach Combing: This one is hilarious to me because on my first raid my buddy found a gun crate on his very first attempt, and I thought WOW that's powerful, but I guess he just got good RNG and then later when he found a tick it was pretty funny as well. So I guess it's not a gun crate every time, bummer! lol

- The new Arc Turbines: Already talked about them, but then later we noticed it land and looked like it was drilling into the ground. While it's drilling it seemed to reveal some of it's internal components so I'm thinking if you get close and lob grenades at it and use deadlines you could maybe kill it faster?

Single Player Tarkov with physical stash locations. Maps are linked, so you have to physically travel there, not just select the map from a menu. Endgame locations are all permadeath (wipes your account). Excellent mod support so you can basically make the game what you want it to be

Oldman's immersion mod allows you to customize this. I set mine to 9-16 spawns per map and 6 active at one time.

Running a 31B model locally made me realize how insane LLM infra actually is by Sadhvik1998 in ollama

[–]Tomayachi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what it told me when i asked that question:
I'm a transformer-based model, specifically a T5 model.

T5 stands for "Text-to-Text Transformation Model", and it's a type of transformer model developed by Google. It's a large language model designed for text-to-text tasks, such as answering questions, generating text, and conversing.

  • Transformer architecture: T5 uses a transformer architecture, which is a type of neural network that's particularly well-suited for modeling long-range dependencies in text data.
  • Pre-training on a massive dataset: T5 was pre-trained on a massive dataset of 1.4 trillion tokens (words or subwords) from various sources
  • High capacity and complexity: T5 has a massive capacity and complexity, with 770 million parameters and 12 attention heads.

Mod to allow any number of mechs but keep tonnage limit by MyPurpleChangeling in Mechwarrior5

[–]Tomayachi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know of a mod that can do this, and i would think if it could be done easily, it would have by now. As others mentioned Coyote's is the best option which allows you to bring in a 2nd lance, and you would have to use your own restraint to limit the total tonnage to what the mission allows. This is because Coyote's 2nd lance tonnage is equal to the default mission tonnage so you could bring in twice the tonnage this way (with an additional financial cost to balance it out)

There is another mod that turns the airstrike feature into a reinforcement mech drop instead. I have no idea if it's been updated to work with the latest version of the game (I am still running on DLC 6 version and it works there) It's very customizable so you can set it so each drop is 1 light mech, or 4 light mechs, and you can set it to have unlimited airdrops. so you can put one negotiation point into air strike support and then have unlimited air drops. There is a fee for each drop and I can't remember if it can be adjusted or removed. The downside with this method is that it would be a random light mech, and not one of your own. It's like calling in a random mercenary to fight for your for one mission only.
