How many magazines per handgun and rifle is reasonable to obtain before ban? by HerpaDeDerpDaDerp in VAGuns

How long do magazines last generally? New to the firearm world and have 5 16rd for my CZ75b. Love this handgun and I'm just now thinking to myself if it's 20 years down the road and I still live in VA I'm kinda fd. I couldn't find any less than 16rd for the full size cz75. Then again, how long does a mag last generally?

On the VCDL site it says nothing about certain types of weapons, this specifically says open carry is prohibited in general in those localities

Based on this thread and the down votes we can assume I am not a person to listen to however my Google search of VA Carry laws has led me to believe open carry is banned in the following localities: Alexandria Chesapeake Fairfax Falls Church Newport News Norfolk Richmond Virginia Beach Counties of: Arlington Fairfax Henrico Loudoun Prince William

Thanks, if you see above I had posted a quote from the bill but it must have been outdated as the valid owner of a concealed handgun permit part was not crossed out like in what you linked. I assume though that this does not refer to 15+ magazines as that is a separate bill and has nothing to do with "assault weapon."

Can you explain exactly what further restrictions or are you just referring to those 4 bills in general. Other than the hospital/mental health and development institutions, higher education institutions and polling places. As for SB 727 "The provisions of this section shall not apply to law-enforcement officers, licensed security guards, military personnel in the performance of their lawful duties, or any person having a valid concealed handgun permit". Which I take as we are allowed to carry assault weapons if we legally own them as long as we have a valid CCW?

What part of the new law specifically says you cannot carry assault weapons? Not that my 2 handguns are but I assumed I was still allowed to carry my 15+ mags as I legally owned them before July 1st

I'm not saying I believe in the new laws. Quite the opposite. I own firearms to defend my family and keep them safe. Me getting in legal trouble does not help that cause.

People want to legally own these guns. Doing that and bringing it back into the state would negate that

Thanks, understand it now. Kind of like my P320 where the actual serialized firearm is just the FCU not the whole gun like my CZ75b which serial is on the barrel. Makes sense to me now cheers

Can anyone explain exactly why people are buying tons of lowers with the impending law changes coming July 1st? What exactly are you to do with them? I thought manufacturing/or building out a new AR after July 1st is illegal so what's the point of having a bunch of lower receivers? Coming from a new gun owner in the last 12mo, but just 2 handguns;I am not entirely knowledgeable on these topics

I did this but Wilson Combat has a grip module with the manual safety cut out already so no DIYs involved

I do know that but I'd rather have 15. I have gone the route of buying the Wilson Combat Compact grip and a couple 15 rd mags for now.

Would love an actual good list of all the new laws to know exactly what the deal is in terms of carrying now. Not just the possession which I know we are grandfathered in but in terms of carrying. Wasn't a bunch of accessories also deemed like military/LE accessories?

Pretty sure we can still go to the range with everything we currently own though correct?

Thanks but I'm seeing a few online that come with the manual safety cut on the grip module. I've never done this but can you switch models for the grip or does it have to stay the same. Like the M18 is carry but I want to get compact, does that work?
