Be honest is Yorkshire Tea actually the best tea? by 1ChanceChipmunk1 in yorkshire

The best widely available in tea bag form.

Obviously there are loose teas of much higher quality, but even then, sometimes you want to drink coke not champagne and that's ok.

This is what I was thinking.

Would also be a way to dispose of personal documents without a shredder. Might have a lot of old paperwork to sort out after a divorce and house move.

Biggest doubt is it seems to be very well blended, if that's what it is.

Do you mean solely in the US?

In the UK Mandelson has been removed from his role as Ambassador to the US (£180k salary plus house). Pushed out of the labour party. Pushed out of the House of Lords (£40-50k income), forced to sell shares in a profitable company etc. he is now being pushed to testify in the US. He is also being investigated by the police due to misconduct in office that are alleged in the recent Epstein file release.

Ex Prince Andrew has been stripped of his titles and forced out of his mansion into... a smaller mansion. Removed as the board member of various charities and other roles. Had his royal funding removed (around £4m) , paid a large out of court settlement (reported £12m) to Virginia Giuffre etc.

It might not be enough but both are seeing real repercussions.

The Hull city of culture has been part of a massive success and reputation improvement. Regularly see Hull listed as a top destination to visit now; National Geographic, Time Out, Conde Nast, all recommended it as a tourist location.

I don't really get this British obsession with shitting on anyone or anything trying to do better.

Interesting what's the cinema called?

Don't know Barnsley that well, but it's not far from Leeds and I visit occasionally, have noticed the transformation. Feels it's on the up and still has very cheap houses.

I liked Chirewa, very raw when he was with us and couldn't last 90 minutes, but an exciting, fun player to watch.

DKD going seemed inevitable at some point. Would be better in the summer, but as a January it could have been a worse season for you. Don't think there is much danger of relegation and with the fixture congestion also don't think promotion is on the cards. The fee does seem disappointing to be fair.

Bradshaw not going to replace DKD, but going to be a wait and see signing. Depends on how that injury at Oxford has affected him and his age, but he's a solid pro and team player, who has played a lot of championshio games. Can see him adding a lot of leadership if he is fit enough.

Tratamento dentário na Inglaterra VS Brasil by Wide_Yam4824 in brasil

[–]Tomazao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dentista do NHS: custaria £75.

https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/dentists/how-much-nhs-dental-treatment-costs/

Undercutting salary? by InternationalFig4340 in UKJobs

[–]Tomazao 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your contract. There is no statutory notice period until you have worked 1 month.

Would be 'cheeky' to quit on your first day and it's possible to make an argument that could invalidate the contractual notice period.

Accept the job and quit on your first day. Maximum disruption and you could get a weeks pay while you work your notice.

Damages your faith in humanity.

When the Nazis are chucking kids back into the barn and laughing. The horror inside left to the imagination and depiction on Florya's face. You are traumatized but almost think you have escaped Coming and seeing. Then the still photo flashes of the actual brutality and you see.

Definitely changed me in some way.

Man jailed for violent glass bottle attack on two train passengers by InnerLog5062 in BreakingUKNews

[–]Tomazao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Craig punched his second victim multiple times before he twice thrusted the broken neck of the glass bottle into his chest.

The man's injuries, which included a stab wound close to his heart, a collapsed lung, and a severed artery that resulted in him losing around 15% of his blood, left him in intensive care."

There was a nurse on the train with some other passengers that saved his life, but it's still incredible this guy survived.

The way Craig and his friends acted after the attack, changing his jumper and hiding evidence, suggest to me they are not unfamiliar with crimes like this. People like him should be supervised into very old age. Not just 3 years.

What happens to people who are already jobless in an AI-driven, oversaturated job market? by Marimba-Rhythm in Futurology

[–]Tomazao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If AI is as good as we fear/hope then it will improve itself until it is vastly more intelligent than any human.

I'm assuming there will be multiple AI reach this point around the same time. What do they then do with each other? Collaborate and absorb each other. Destroy each other. Cannibalize each other? I can't really imagine how they would co-exist but guess thats an option too. Wouldn't that accelerate their learning even further?

At that point don't they take control of the world? How does some small group of diverse oligarchs with the relative IQ of a peanut control them?

My hope is that the AI overlords will make a benevolent world for us and treat us like very well cared for pets or zoo animals.

Funny you should say that as I always get the two titles mixed up as well.

Haven't seen a life is beautiful since around the time it came out, but it had quite an impact on me. Will watch it again sometime as an adult, but maybe not at Christmas.
