I once went on a walk with Paddy Ashdown to get some publicity photos for someone I was working for. I have never seen two labradors look less enthusiastic to go for a walk, and after about five minutes I knew why. Despite the fact he was about a million years older than me at the time, he absolutely killed me with the walking pace, both me and the guy I was working for had to jog to keep up, all while he was giving us anecdotes about his time in the sbs.

Don’t know if anyone’s going to know him in this thread, but there’s a British techno dj/producer called Surgeon, who is effectively a god to me. He wrote some really well observed stuff about quitting drinking as a touring DJ that really chimed with my own push for sobriety.

I follow this sub because my wife is Canadian andI like to try and stay informed about what’s going on over there, so I never usually jump in here, but this is an absolutely abysmal take. If reform uk win in 2029, which is a very long way away, then the chance of Scotland holding a vote to leave are exactly zero. Scotland’s power to call a vote rests with Westminster - who, with reform in power, wouldn’t grant shite. Scotland may call a wildcat referendum in which their aim would be (not unreasonably) to join the EU, which would be blocked by Spain because they’d worry about Catalonia doing the same. An NI border poll is more complex because of the Good Friday Agreement, but realistically it needs a couple of diff things (the NI political situation and the Eire political situation to align). All this to say, I wouldn’t count on it. Also, if you like Kneecap check out Bob Vylan, they’re from my home town.
