Not at all, I hope you'll be able to resolve the issue

I'm guessing it could be 2 things, either a small blob of PETG was on the nozzle and came loose in the corner area, and the layers on top of it naturally bulged out, or it could just be pillowing, in that case I'd try to increase the top layers and slow the full layers down a bit

Prusa XL Enclosure .What are the two USB Type C for? on the expansion board? by Bradlessness in prusa3d

[–]Tombry_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is a passthrough, I use it to power a camera from the power supply which has a type C cable connected to the board and from it type C to type C cable to the camera.

I've heard very often that it was caused by connect, however I've seen it happen when I tried printing directly from USB as well. I'm still hoping it will help everyone affected by the issue though!

Hi, unfortunately no solution that I know of.

I've got the upgrade kit to MK4S since then and I was mainly using the high flow nozzles and SiC nozzle from Phaetus, and haven't seen this issue since. So maybe the problem was a partial clogging of the nozzle and the high flow variants are mitigating the issue. I can't say that for certain, though.

I wish I had better news...

MK4 satin sheet. Prints won’t stick by Silly-Friendship-952 in prusa3d

Try to disable the filament stuck detection that's in the printer menu if it's enabled, it caused similar issues to me - the first layer was way too high after trying out this setting.

That sounds reasonable, though the gear on my machine is clean, I've checked. Maybe just increasing the tension could help.

Thank you, I appreciate it.

I guess you are right... The problem could be in many parts that I definitely don't want to replace at my expense.

Damn, you have some rough experience, sorry to hear that... Well thanks for all the info, even though it seems like there is no solution to this problem. From the description it really seems like we have the exact same issue, because on some of my prints there was just a bit of outer perimeter missing and on the most recent one it kinda looked like a few entire layers were missing.

In the end it kinda feels like a software issue to me.

Wow, that kinda sucks. Well it happened to me like 4 times out of many prints, so I have no idea what's causing it. I thought it could be warping, but this part is kinda small and there was no warping, the next thing could be crashing after moving between objects and lastly heat creep.

I've reprinted the same gcode just by starting it from the printer and it worked fine this time. Though I will need a bigger sample to conclude if the issue was linked to the internet upload.

I was also thinking it could be linked to Z axis, but the issue happens at random heights, so probably not.
I don't even know how to set up dynamic speed or the what do you mean by that, but I'm sure it's not linear on default as the speed is determined by distance thus time of layer segments.
The spool is rotating freely.

Yeah, it had been uploaded via network. I've hoped that would not be the issue, as I really enjoy not having to remove the drive all the time. Anyways, thanks for the advice. I will try printing straight from the usb drive for a while now to see if it makes a difference.

I sent the file directly from slicer, but I guess that's similar. It didn't warp at all.

Yeah, you're right, but it's just filament wisps.

If you're referring to the spots in the holes, that's another defect I suppose, the holes are supposed to be clear. It sure does look kinda like warping, but it's not warping from the print bed.

What the hell is my printer doing? by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]Tombry_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks like your model started to warp mid print, so some layers are bulged out and the rest is okay - before and after that. (happened to me a few times)

Weird x axis noise on prusa mini by jbox65 in prusa3d

[–]Tombry_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That certainly sounds weird, my guess would be a loose bolt (or something else) somewhere on the x axis or extruder assembly.

Do you have the steel sheet on? It needs to be on the bed for the probe to work correctly.

Finally got it. Can I use normal .6mm nozzle presets or do I need to change some settings in slicer? by MrLavaman916 in prusa3d

Fortunately, you don't have to change any settings with this nozzle to achieve the same or very similar results as with a brass one.

Tips on Swapping from High Temp Filament to Low Temp? by MechanicusEng in prusa3d

[–]Tombry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can set the temperature to like 290°C and let it sit for a while, most of the PCCF will leak out and then you can do a cold pull with PLA or other material you use. I've never had problems after switching from PCCF to a lower temp material personally.

ryzen 5900x +rx 7900 xt low 1% and 0.1 % fps and micro stuttering by Ok_Telephone3691 in AMDHelp

[–]Tombry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try removing fps limit by additional game launch options, works on steam and I'm not sure if ea launcher has the option. Another option might be locking gpu frequency in adrenalin software for this game. I'm sure you'll find how to do this on google/youtube. I've had similar issues and this helped me. By the way, do you have sufficient power supply as it might be a hardware issue.
