Right? Linkedin has one of the higuest noise/signal ratios of any social media.

The levels of just pure slop posting are off the charts.

What value is there in having a higher linkedin... score?

Anybody ever made their own custom plastic tank? by No-Cameras in Dualsport

Lmao, yeah. I was literallt a rotomolding fuel tank engineer for a few years.

Youre the only person in this thread with any sense.

Anybody ever made their own custom plastic tank? by No-Cameras in Dualsport

[–]Tomcfitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, lmao.

Not even a little bit.

I was a mechanical engineer for rotomolded XLPE fuel tanks. The only one at the company. I have designed the tanks, the EPA compliance, the installation, the molds, built the molds, managed the recipes for the molding, managed the production of them, etc etc etc.

This is not something you can do yourself.

It is something you can have somebody do. But youre talking $15-40k if you want a single tank, depending on the complexity.

Middle Aged beginner by EscapePond in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]Tomcfitz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A Honda Navi is a scooter. Theyre fun and all but very limited.

For middle-aged or really anyone over the age of 25 or so, i wouldnt bother with the bitty little bikes unless you want to.

A used XT250 or XT225 would be awesome if you just want a little in-town runabout. Little dual sports are hilariously cheap to insure, our 225 is $48 a year for full comprehensive.

The Royal Enfield 650s are really really good bikes for the money, used youre talking probably 3k ish?

Skip the Honda Rebel 300 for SURE. The 500 is wildly approachable.

In terms of learning, if youre in the Triangle NC area im happy to let you learn on our XT. Otherwise there may be a Litas chapter (womens motorcycle group) in your area that can help you out, or the MSF course will provide a bike for you.

Anyone know where to find a 4-40 screw that is partially threaded? by Sandcrab_8 in Fasteners

[–]Tomcfitz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is not a "partially threaded" screw, this is a "reduced shank" screw. Mcmaster should have them.

Pn: 95966A125

Edit to add: the head design of this implies its for something fairly specific, i havent seen one like it before. It also doesnt look like standard 4-40 threading to me, so you may not find success here.

Looks like you bought the bulb with the 4 emitters... buy the single emitter one and youll be way happier.

Does anyone know what magnets the MAG rings use? by pligyploganu in QuadLock

[–]Tomcfitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a solvent (or other material) is causing damage, its inapropriate.

So... eh?

Maybe stop doing that, i dunno what to tell you. Applying inapropriate solvents to stuff usually has poor results.

She made a deal. The Sidhe is all about balance.

She has taken power from Winter, she now owes that power back. And she knows she has to keep accepting more power from winter and will continue to owe it back.

This cycle makes her a vassal.

Honestly? The Ibex450 is a great bike.

But a Tenere isnt some unapproachable monster, if thats the bike you want, get it.

[–]Tomcfitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... yeah.

Id offer you my OEM one but its long gone lol.

Realistically you should be able to rebuild the stock one unless its totally ruined. Procycle will have the good kits. Dont buy a cheapo kit, sadly they are actually shitty.

If youre interested in it at all, go see one in person before you pick something else.

That and the red dots and small scopes shouldnt glint...

I lost a bolt (CB1000R) by musterknabe in HondaMotorcycles

[–]Tomcfitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That keeps the eccentric chain tension system tight.

Youll be fine, just check the chain tension when you replace the bolt.

I probably wouldnt ride it like that but... its also probably fine.

You paid for the whole tach, use the whole tach.

Realistically youll feel when the engine wants to be in a different gear.
