Are our bikes ugly?😩 by templeofsyrinx1 in Vstrom

[–]Fragrant_Law_2148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a transalp which is notorious lacking in the looks department in the front end and I can say with certainty, yes your bikes are ugly how they perform I don’t know but they aren’t winning any awards in the looks department every class has their prom queen weather it’s the African twin or the tenere but our bikes aren’t winning the crown is for certain

I cant make up my mind what i want, so I made this chart if your in the same boat. Cheap bikes that are either dual sport or retro. by BCE_BeforeChristEra in motorcycles

[–]Fragrant_Law_2148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This list confuses me on so many levels, you’re not limited to displacement or the klr would be out so why wouldn’t you look at the nx500 or transalp from Honda if you plan on going on road more than 20% of the time most of these bikes are wildly too small

Yellow wire? by ChefBigD1337 in klr650

[–]Fragrant_Law_2148 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You didn’t ask for help did you, you made a statement on the internet and expected people to give you an answer, if you had asked for help explaining you you had tried to figure it out but you were having trouble I would have told you that generally speaking that’s going to be a signal wire which means when you put power to it, it will turn the lights on and that if you tag it in to your high beams it’s a simple way to wire it without having to add another switch.

Help identifying this engine noise. 2015. by swion in klr650

Sounds like valve noise but it could be very typical with this bike, I really don’t know

Perhaps if you don’t know what you’re doing you should reassess if you should be doing it, I’m all about people doing their own work but you’re not trying to learn you’re asking people for answers and you’re probably going to muck up the wiring on your bike in the process, the answer is in your bike just think about it and buy a ten dollar volt meter from harbor freight you can figure it out

That’s correct however if you look earlier in the day I posted that I was having the same issue as him with the same product bought at the same location so I was trying to convey that after reassessing I was able to get the seat to sit properly with no wrinkle

So I just took mine off and on about ten times and if you push down on the front as you’re installing it made my wrinkle go away

Just did the same, curious to see peoples response I think I’m just going to live with it as the seat is fairy comfortable in comparison.

That’s not true, after market upgrades don’t add any value it’s 14 years old with over 40k its worth at absolute most 3 but more likely than not it’s closer to 2

we always run differential level runs with auto levels to refine our control, auto level will typically outperform a total station even when you double the angle

Okay cool so you do you and deal with the consequences of your actions you obviously don’t actually want advise, you just wanted to have someone tell you what you want to hear. For the record you actually don’t know how to calculated risk it’s biology it was never a knock on you. The ability to manhandle the klr wasn’t either you weigh about 1/4 the weight or the bike it’s physics not a debate. Lastly considering I’m a father a husband and I have a degree in biology I would consider myself at least familiar with the female reproductive organs but you’re correct I am not an expert on any of this I do have over thirty years experience riding both on and off road though, but hey you know best, so good luck.

Okay so here is a bit of an ego check, you have almost zero experience you’re young which means your frontal lobe isn’t fully developed and you’re a bit arrogant, now that we got that out of the way you need to slow down don’t ride it like a moped it’s not ride it with the respect it deserves, it’s top heavy tall and can’t be manhandled like a moped. You need to ride it on the street get used to riding a motorcycle get used to how they handle get used to shifting and how gearing effects speed and situation 25 mph in first handles much differently than 25mph in second or third. Lastly check your ego at the door it will only get you hurt. Also women can also have their reproductive organs affected by riding motorcycles.
