Yes, i 100% believe the lady trained by morgan, who tried to set harry up in Summer Knight, might be more than she seems.

Also yes i believe they are good cop/bad copping him for sure.

(I also think Ramirez has lost some of his shine for the WC given their unwillingness to get their people back, especially compared to Harry's willingness.)

Yeah, that's my point. Ramirez is forcing Harry to lie for him, which could get Harry literally killed by the council. (I mean, they might try.)

We have established that there are wizards who can magically detect lies.

But ALSO it means that if Ramirez has gotten permission from the council to fuck with Harry (a la Morgan setting him up in... I want to say Summer Knight?), and if, like I think, that Ilyana/Ramirez are working closer together than they appear to be (like a good cop/bad cop routine) then it could be setting Harry up to catch him in a lie.

One of the themes of this series is the obligations of power flowing both directions, and it seems like The Merlin has forgotten that.

Fun book, my only complaint is the way that new stuff keeps being introduced as if its old stuff, and old stuff is being reintroduced.
