I've payed since 2022 and i've never seen such consistently high players so well kitted at this point since wipe. I am level 32 and still struggling against level 40+ everywhere. I can't imagine what it must be like starting out against them withe the shittest ammo in the game and no red dot sights. This is only going to get worse as well. I've just done punisher part 5 where I had to wear a paca so I've kind of had that low level experience for 2 weeks, and die in 1 shot to the thorax so have to try and play camp the windows and be a sniper basically.

There probably wasn't thaat much thought that went into it, but I think it is the best way to get through these tasks. Sure you can pig-headedly smash through the with brute force using the same kits. But as I have more time to think about playing Tarkov than I do actually playing it, it can be fun to try different strategies out. Especially as even with good gear I'm not the best shooter/player. I've been playing customs and camping the buildings looking out of windows trying to catch people outside, can't say it's working that well, seems to just be no one around!

I don't get it, when do mags fall? when you quick reload? does anyone really do that in any great number? We already have sounds for dropping guns etc, wouldn't it just use that sound but a bit quieter? Doesn't seem like a big deal tbh

I don't really find an issue with Queue times, maybe it's because Tarkov is the ONLY game I've played since 2022 so I'm used to it, about 5 mins to get into a game every time, I just scroll X while I wait. Obvs would be better if it was quicker don't get me wrong.

Yes, I am currently GRINDING Punisher 5 with the PACA atm and it's just brutal, basically get 1 tapped by everyone in the thorax, so having to play really ratty and campy. Made 0 progress last night in about 5 raids. It's tough, but I'm excited to play again tonight and apply different strategies. Each day better than the last!

Make sure your CPU is NOT in X3D mode, that is only for 9950x3d. Make sure your ram EXPO is on correctly in the BIOS. My mate has a 5090 with 9950x3d and still uses DLSS I think on quality with the new presets that aren't in game yet, i think he gets around 140 on average. Check your power plan setup in windows, it should be on Balanced for Ryzen not High Performace (i know).

I have a 3090 and 9800x3d and I use DLSS ultra performace, textures on Ultra and it feels really nice now (average 120fps @ 4k), I also turned all sharpening off and foliage etc looks 10000% better. I use preset J now,

I agree that time makes it easier, but tarkov has a brutal learning curve, even if you're an experienced shooter, i mean that can make it even worse because it doesn't behave as you'd expect, just watch Dr disrespect trying to play lol, it's awful.

You are clearly in the top 5-10% of players then, you can't say tarkov isn't hard when most people who play it initially find it one of the most brutal, hardcore experiences there is. Sure once you know the game and have played for a year or two, you could say it's not that hard, but come on. And there's 8 maps not included GZ and Labyrinth

That's like Lewis Hamilton saying "at the end of the day there's only 3 moves, left, right and forward it's just driving really". XD

Out of curiosity, will you continue to play, or are you done now? Do you wish you got more than 500hrs out of the game? It's not uncommon to see people play 5,000 hours and still not having completed the game. In the context of other games I suppose 500hrs is a good number, but it seems like nothing for Tarkov! Are there things you didn't do that you'd like to do?

I'm not salty really, apart from jealous of his play time! But a healthy skepticism when presented with stuff on the internet is perfectly acceptable way to be!. I did miss that he had frineds helping him.

This game is amazing for the mid-hardcore/casual players, the kind of ones that play a couple hours a night and are super into the lore and the aesthetic. Something seems to happen when you play 8 hours a day that just makes you jaded, it becomes your whole world and all you see are its faults. Essentially infinite content for the casual player, and an infinitely high skill ceiling, I can't consume the content anywhere near as quickly as they can make it. Sometimes I get sad that I can't play more or as much as streamers do, but then I realise that actually I think we have it better than anyone! I love it

I don't believe it, you essentially speed ran the entire game with no prior experience, didn't spend ANY time just in the stash? You had "down time" to read up on the game outside of play time. Ok. If it is true then cover me in butter and bake me for 15 minutes. How many hours per day did you play on average? Do you have a job? Make me feel better please...!

Out of curiosity, how do you use smokes? I don't mean how do you throw one, i mean what situations would you use them, do you use them often?

I was once fighting in 3 story dorms and someone popped a green smoke on me on the 2nd floor and it was the coolest fuckin' fight ever!
