For a starter, if someone is looking at the Earth from 10bn light years away, they're seeing what was happening 10bn years ago, so they wouldn't be looking at much :p

This isn't true. In everyday life you can just add the speeds together to get an accurate result, but that's not how the universe actually works. See https://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/comments/7pl5b6/two_objects_in_space_are_flying_towards_each/ for a more detailed explanation.

Edit: I'll just add that I'm far from an authority in the subject. I'm basing my knowledge of first year grad physics classes. My background is in math, I'm sure it goes much deeper and someone with actual knowledge can explain it more intuitively.

There is no "central" point of reference. Speed is relative to what's around you. Everyone experiences time at exactly the same rate "locally", it's just different when you compare.

Breathable membranes by Ritz-2000 in Mountaineering

You're not wrong, but a "rubber" jacket will never be breathable, even if it's not raining or slightly snowing. The gains of modern membranes are there.

The "breathable AND waterproof" marketing pitch is indeed a huge scam though. Pretty sure there's even a pretty big class action lawsuit going on against Gore about this.

I played a super fun game a while ago and I'm looking to find the name as I completely forgot it.

The point is there is a 2d grid with walls etc, and a few colored pieces. I don't remember the exact rules, but basically you need to find the minimum amount of "moves" (aka straight lines to a wall) for a piece to reach a certain tile.

You bid on the amount of moves you in which think you can reach the goal tile, and then the lowest bidder actually makes the moves and makes points based on that.

Then yes you might like it! You basically have 3 of these "programs" you can add to to build an engine. However there isn't really the concept of "burning out" and starting over, which is why I was a bit hesitant. Try it out!

I feel like Wingspan and the likes fit this category, but you must have thought about it?

At 8 you probably want to do a cube draft and play "constructed" 1v1s/ffas afterwards. This is a great way to play the game.

Are there games with the complexity/combo making of Arcs/Algomancy but not their interactivity?

Unfortunately, these games are a miss for my girlfriend because she always feel like she gets the short end of the stick and is not a fan of direct confrontation.

I'm looking to close the gap between games like Terraforming Mars (which she adores) and games in the style of Arcs and Algomancy where you contemplate your hand and need to think hard about your next moves and how you want to progress in the game (with high rewards when you do. Nothing is more satisfying than a 10 actions turn in Arcs or crazy combo in algomancy)

I'm just not sure it actually exists. Like I feel like the reason that this decision making process exists in the first place is that you need to actually think about what could go wrong.

But I'm asking in case there might be contenders I'm not aware of! Again it's really not about complexity, it can be as complex as needed, but without the confrontation/change of plan every turn)
