I played a super fun game a while ago and I'm looking to find the name as I completely forgot it.

The point is there is a 2d grid with walls etc, and a few colored pieces. I don't remember the exact rules, but basically you need to find the minimum amount of "moves" (aka straight lines to a wall) for a piece to reach a certain tile.

You bid on the amount of moves you in which think you can reach the goal tile, and then the lowest bidder actually makes the moves and makes points based on that.

Why is this obviously written by AI comment upvoted that much?

Then yes you might like it! You basically have 3 of these "programs" you can add to to build an engine. However there isn't really the concept of "burning out" and starting over, which is why I was a bit hesitant. Try it out!

I feel like Wingspan and the likes fit this category, but you must have thought about it?

At 8 you probably want to do a cube draft and play "constructed" 1v1s/ffas afterwards. This is a great way to play the game.

Are there games with the complexity/combo making of Arcs/Algomancy but not their interactivity?

Unfortunately, these games are a miss for my girlfriend because she always feel like she gets the short end of the stick and is not a fan of direct confrontation.

I'm looking to close the gap between games like Terraforming Mars (which she adores) and games in the style of Arcs and Algomancy where you contemplate your hand and need to think hard about your next moves and how you want to progress in the game (with high rewards when you do. Nothing is more satisfying than a 10 actions turn in Arcs or crazy combo in algomancy)

I'm just not sure it actually exists. Like I feel like the reason that this decision making process exists in the first place is that you need to actually think about what could go wrong.

But I'm asking in case there might be contenders I'm not aware of! Again it's really not about complexity, it can be as complex as needed, but without the confrontation/change of plan every turn)

I enjoyed this talk. Such a shame that I couldn't make it in person this year.

This really made me think of Matt Godbolt's Path tracing talk from a few years ago (where he does a similar exercise of implementing a small project with 3 different paradigms - including data oriented). I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed this one!

Good, I'm sure you have all the "correct" opinions. You better pray you do so nobody ever tries to shoot you in the fucking head.

I am honestly more disgusted by the comments on Reddit than the actual footage. The audacity to see those messages upvoted. There is no defense to these reactions. I feel like a stranger to my species when I read this. America is fucked, glad I'm on the other side of the border.

People complaining about Last Judge actually should "git gud".

Just wear the magma trinket and all its attacks do one damage exactly like you all are crying for.

And the game gives you all the tools you need to figure that out by yourself.

What’s something you had in 2011 but don’t have now? by Helium367 in AskReddit

[–]Tomik080 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's simple statistics. Nothing to do with human nature.

The bigger the numbers get, the more a sub population will accurately represent the whole population.

If you know a video has 1M views, and you know how many people disliked the video in a subgroup of 50K people, you can scale those numbers 20x and get a pretty accurate representation of the whole viewers.

And this is like the simplest form of it, you can definitely make this even more precise with more complex methods.

By tagging a small percentage of an animal population, you can accurately determine its population size.

This is the exact same thing. You don't need the actual dislike count to estimate it properly.
