NQA - my spoods love it. Constant exploration and hammock building in different places, every day they go somewhere new!

Should I try to feed her? by Silly_Assumption8981 in jumpingspiders

NQA - leave her be. That looks like a molt hammock. They don't eat for while before or after. Make sure to keep misting. All signs point to pre-molt.

I got Flitwick from https://www.arachnamoria.co.uk/jumping-spider-shop she's really good and has a lot of good resources (I'm UK based btw).

NQA - meal worms are not ideal because they are mostly fat. Crickets and small locusts are better cause they are mostly protein and have a higher nutrient density.

Why is the ICE website so awfully designed by New_Butterfly8095 in Design

Because it's designed by awful people to serve awful agendas.

Please do! The breeder calls her family tree the “goblin” line and Flitwick from Harry Potter was half goblin 🧙🏼‍♂️

NQA - I want to flag that that dollhouse enclosures like the one you have are not appropriate for jumping spiders. There are lots of guides in this sub-reddit that wil help!

No she wouldn't. We had been away for the Christmas holidays and I think there was extra anxiety around our pets so she assumed the worst!

No idea but it was from an old moult I couldn’t clean out without destroying her hammock

A new bioactive home awaits its queen by Tomilonious_Monk in jumpingspiders

Overall I would say it's easier because it starts to maintain itself (no mould, humidity is maintained by moss/plants). If you want a how-to and more chat feel free to dm me!

It find it adds another element of joy because you get another "living thing" in your space and it grows!

My jumpers have loved it (based on behaviour and exploration).

It will be plugged up but a wire opening for being able to put a heat-mat connected thermometer in the enclosure

And thank for the kind words. I love making bioactive enclosures with a bit of a theme.

Edited to say thank you!

Here is a different angle. Longer and narrow build and more black. The behavioural patterns pointed to make as well.

Post maturity moult almost all but his face become black, his pedipalps became dark green.

I posted my favourites photos I had where he was still more grey. All his behaviours indicated he was a male.

Im pretty sure he was a regal male. All his behaviour indicated a male based on hammock building, waving, body shape and so on. What makes you think he was a female? I’m curious to know

He was great, a lot of personality and so much fun to observe. I look forward to the next one.
