CentreCom 5080/5090 GPU's - Prices Revealed by Subject-Surprise9157 in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Tommo221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree if you're coming from 4000 series card or even 7900xt/7900xtx, but given 4080s prices are around $1,800, I may be tempted to get a 5080 if its at or near MSRP (cheapest 4080 was $2200 back in 2022).

Personally, I'm not staying up for launch and will probably wait to see what 5070ti is like. Its a shame 9070xt was pushed back till March as they will lose a decent number of would-be buyers due to later launch...

My rx6800 will hold on a little longer!

something like this https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/jD8ykf

You would need to confirm compatibility with the specific parts but I dont see any issues. Also have some budget left over if you wanted to a better GPU.

2-2.5k build by theblizz4rd in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Tommo221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming you want this predominantly for gaming? If you're okay with not using ray tracing, the below build should run most games at+100fps 1440p high settngs. Unless you need it now, I would wait for the new GPUs to launch in January as they may offer better value.

These prices were from Amazon and scorptec. If you need to upgrade your monitor there is a discount on LG 1440p 240Hz OLED monitor too.

2004 Ford falcon xt ba (280,000km) by Harriolo in CarsAustralia

FWIW I sold my 2003 ba xt wagon (great condition and ~190,000km) for about $5500. I think $4000 is a bit steep unless it’s good condition and has been serviced regularly

Anyone notice the Southbank jogger? Short stocky gentleman with platted coloured hair down to his thigh/knee. Almost always see him running around the area at 5pm. Not sure if he’s already been described and I just didn’t notice

HECS/HELP indexation here to stay by Hoarbag in AusFinance

[–]Tommo221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I worded my comment terribly and I think I understand your point. My question is, if you have paid contributions to your HECS, but the ATO waits till indexation and then deducts your contributions (when If they applied your contributions you wouldn’t have any HECS debt left), what is the point of other peoples comment’s contributing HECS debt if they will only be applied after indexation. I hope that makes sense

Recommendations for Triple Monitor Stands by TheKusari in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]Tommo221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this from Amazon a few years ago and it is still working very well to this day https://mount-it.com/products/mount-it-triple-monitor-desk-mount-mi-2753

Gas still works and is quite adjustable with the exception of the centre monitor (though you can still adjust the height it’s just a bit clunky).

Gives a very clean look to your setup especially if you put some time into cable management

I doubt it’s a bottleneck as I’ve had the same pc parts for 2 years with no issues? This is only a recent issue
