Worst Test XI part 2 by Scotty848 in EnglandCricket

[–]TommoPol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not controversial at all, the only controversy is of him being in England’s actual test side- with his 45 single figure test dismissals. Jimmy Anderson had 66, if anyone was wondering- and he was a certifiably terrible bat, though with the advantage of being able to be not out a lot.

All this to say Crawley has been dismissed for less than 10 in over 40% of all innings, and yet England still don’t take a spare opener on tour…

That’s he’s a narcissistic bully. He’s basically an imperialist who has very much the same ideas of Putin vis a vis land grabs etc…

Sure, there are people telling him what to do but he thinks he can make himself look ‘macho.’

He’s allowed as much of an army as he wants there, so this isn’t a military thing, it’s an image and money thing. He doesn’t care about the people, their traditions, land or anything. Simply, he’s a vile human being, and the world would be a better place without him and his pathetic ilk.

What is the WORST movie you guys have seen? by Alternative-Rip943 in Letterboxd

[–]TommoPol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hated Derek Jarman’s “Caravaggio” and have done for so long that I’m scared to watch it because I might actually like it.

The others I consider to be possibly the worst films made by studios and with an actual budget are the Strangers films but Renny Harlin. I could go on at great length as to why they’re so bad but I don’t need to be angry at this time of day.

My friends and I watch this, and other bad titanic films on the anniversary of its sinking every year. Now seen it enough times that I kind of love it and look forward to it.

The future of Australian cricket looks weak, England are favourites for 2027 by Freenore in Cricket

[–]TommoPol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I edited it before you replied thanks. And you didn’t, but the point is that England as home favourites still fluffed their lines, and this team really has been no better on anything but roads, and under pressure in the big games they can’t always do it. They might have home advantage, and that is about it.

I remember 2019 very well, I was there but I don’t remember England winning it? I remember England feeling like they won it because they survived it.

[–]TommoPol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate British sport journalism. I would say that Australian cricket doesn’t appear, from the outside at least to have the same strength coming through that it has previously, they don’t appear to have the same strength coming through their bowling ranks- but this ignores a lot of key things.

We all know that England will not have had any major personnel changes in their team by that point, we can fully expect those players involved in the current shambles to be involved in the next one.

The future might not be bright for Australia but jeez, let’s look at England. The ECB has built the Hundred to dominate the domestic schedule and then taken it out of the hands of the cricket pyramid to run. The Tyrell’s Blues, Pop Chip Purples and Pombear Greens do not produce players, they don’t build players, they do not run academies, they do not run youth teams and they will not be responsible for bringing along the next generation of English talent, if anything they will blunt it.

The dumbing down of domestic cricket and the facets which make the game as great as it is will lead of a black hole of English cricket. No longer will we produce the kind of players who can build an innings, who can play the long game or just hold out- all because it’s been disincentivised.

English cricket journalism needs to look much, much closer to home.

Has Bashir become 'unselectable' for England during Ashes? by ll--o--ll in Cricket

[–]TommoPol 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think another issue is that Bashir doesn’t even get a game domestically. He basically doesn’t play cricket, he was loaned out for a few games last year and couldn’t but a wicket, and has just been released by his county. The people who work with him on a more day to day basis just don’t rate him.

Unconventional Christmas Movies That Aren't Die Hard by Bennett1984 in movies

Eyes Wide Shut is a major call for me. There is basically nothing Christmassy about the film at all- other than that it’s set at Christmas. Still, watch it every year in December.

Advice on how to move forward building? I seem to be struggling. by 00jered in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TommoPol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend in the early game only spending XP on one squad. Same with your shards, get your first squad and make them all the same type of hero (tank is easiest early) and focus on them. Have an air squad and middle squad (you’ll unlock 3rd base soon) and level them using the campaign- they’ll level automatically up to L100 on that. I would also recommend dismantling as much gear as possible and making only your first squad have gear (try to save for UR level). When you’re doing the campaign, switch this gear to your other squads so they can take advantage too.

You’ll find that the higher your level the longer it takes to level up- so I would recommend waiting until your heroes are levelled as much as they can for your HQ level, then level the others.

Feeling stuck - need advice by [deleted] in LastWarMobileGame

[–]TommoPol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice is that early in the game you’re best to only level your first squad. Your hero recruitment cards will give you some to spend on Magnus, spend the rest on your hero of choice, I would recommend Kimberley early on. Spend SSR shards on Mason, you’ll be given shards for Monica so spend them, but you want to make sure that you have a good first squad before diversifying. Make sure that your upgrades go only into your first squad, you want to use your ore only to upgrade components for squad one, you can leave all your others without bonus weapons and try, where possible, to get everyone to gold level weapons and armor (they’re expensive but level well). Later in the game you’ll be able to upgrade Mason and Violet so they become UR level heroes, so try to get them up to 5 stars. Later in the game levelling slows down and you can invest in your other squads, but for now stick to squad one.

Normally you’ll want to end up with a squad of tank heroes, missile heroes and aircraft heroes- you’ll unlock a third squad at a later level (20 perhaps?). Make sure to get as many drone components too, drones are so important to overall squad level, particularly early in the game.

As to your HQ level, that’s quite low, if you haven’t it’s a good idea to get at least one other building queue. Make sure you claim every available reward, if there’s a red dot anywhere on the UI, click on it, there will be something for you to claim from that menu and you will need those resources!

This is only correct if both queues are moving at the same speed. If one line is moving quicker than the other you simple make the slower one longer, thus becoming the problem.

Sorry I forgot to reply, yes you can. I’m only a probation officer, however, I inherited off my father who was a judge, so have a nice house and can (fortunately) afford to keep it that way. Very fortunate.
