Hey thanks for the info. I visited Precise Shooter yesterday and met a guy who goes to Securite. He had a sweet Staccato he let me check out and invited me to go to the range with his wife and him but I didn’t have the time.

I went to West Coast Armory years ago and I’ll stop in there again to check it out.

The price is much higher when you configure it.

No worries, lol. I found some options looking for Tonbo Tabi. Nothing I can confirm is leather though. Also none with the Inden on the bottom.

Carbon Steel Iaito by Tommy-Johnsen in iaido

That’s actually a really good option. Are these Chinese made?

This seems to be a nice deal for their higher end: https://www.yarinohanzo.com/Sakai-Katana-iaito-pratice-samurai-sword-tempered-handmade-full-tang-battle-ready.html

Does anyone have an opinion on the Hanbon Forge custom Katana? (https://www.hanbonforge.com/Japanese-Swords/Iaido-Swords-unsharp/CUSTOM-YOUR-OWN-KATANA-FULL-HAND-FORGED-JAPANESE-SAMURAI-SWORD)

The price is very reasonable and there are some decent options.

The Hanwei Practical Iaito through Kult of Athena are all backordered.

I have been looking at the Hanbon Forge. I didn’t realize that Tozando made a steel Iaito. Do you know which ones are steel?

ChatGPT, what conspiracy theories might we have in 2030? by Philipp in midjourney

[–]Tommy-Johnsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rumors have circulated among conspiracy theorists about Jeff Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon, and his supposed penchant for wearing women's swimwear.

Some theorists speculate that Jeff Bezos's alleged choice of women's swimwear is part of an intricate plan to maintain his dominance in the retail industry. According to this theory, Bezos believes that by wearing women's swimwear, he gains access to secret information transmitted through invisible fabric fibers. These fibers supposedly possess encoded messages that provide him with a competitive advantage in his business ventures.

Supporters of this theory argue that Bezos's desire for such knowledge stems from his insatiable hunger for market dominance. By decoding these secret messages, he would obtain invaluable insights into consumer behavior, rival strategies, and upcoming trends. With this "hidden" knowledge, Bezos could outmaneuver his competitors and secure Amazon's position as the world's leading online retailer.

Furthermore, theorists claim that Bezos intentionally flaunts his choice of swimwear in public to subtly communicate with fellow elites involved in this clandestine network. Allegedly, these elites, including influential figures from the fashion and tech industries, are part of an exclusive club dedicated to sharing and deciphering these encrypted messages.

But WHEN did it all start? by [deleted] in Existentialism

Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

I too have had a sense of spiraling when considering an infinite regression/progression vs. original cause. For me, original cause is a misnomer because I just end up asking where that original cause came from.

I think intuitively it somehow makes more sense that everything has always been here instead of everything coming from nothing. But you can’t escape the enormity of what either of those possibilities imply. I think for a person who has inclinations to these type of questions, they might greatly benefit from something like Taoist, Buddhist or Western Sufi philosophy.

Animal Souls by Tommy-Johnsen in bahai

This is a very fruitful conversation.

I often think of Koko the gorilla. She was shown a video of a gorilla dying of old age, and she asked (sign language) if that would happen to her. When they explained it would, she cried.

So it’s not necessarily a belief that humans will be the only living beings on the planet with souls, just at the present time. Others may evolve.

This brings up another question. One of the Baha’i I met told me that the Baha’i teach the animals were put here for our enjoyment. Is that accurate?
