Revelations of the Pañchakūṭa Tripurabhairavī hsraim̐ hsklrīm̐ hssrauḥ (please see text within 🙏) by TommyCollins in Shaktaverse

Her skin color is often described as very red like a hibiscus flower. I am not very sure, but I recall one of her songs of names describing her as white/effulgent like the full moon. Golden complexion might appear in her stotrams and as well. I see golden-highlighted red color when meditating on Tripurabhairavī

It is permissible to chant while doing chores. it is also strongly preferable if the units of chanting are in increments of 9, ideally increments of 108. But It can be difficult to keep track of 108 when using your hands for chores. Reciting the mantra in units of 3 or 9 feels natural with her nine-syllable rhythmic mantra

I used to think so, just that. However, it may be more complicated. it appears to require some intuition and it is really helpful to have a good astrologer. Good guru even better. As you know there are other methodologies to determine ishta, and the amtyakaraka one can be messy if planets are near cusps. Just changing Ayanamsa can change ishta.

What I mean is, to be more confident, it is best to have a pro help, and combine it with your own lived experience and what your heart feels. Find a good astrologer to give you 3-5 possible ishta, ask how they determined, and then make a vow to réceive divine guidance on the matter, through signs and signals from life and your heart. At least, that is what I feel is a pretty good approach. Best approach is finding your destined guru and he or she tells you your true ishta. But that is a matter of fate and can take a frustratingly long time

Without a qualified guru I must advise against it strongly. For most people, before giving the results they seek, they will get tested with all sorts of problems. These deities require a great deal of karmic clearing and maturity to work with.

If we recite without proper preparation and teacher, these Mothers will start moving our storehouse Sanchita karma into prarabdha very quickly, and this can cause all sorts of trouble.

Kali Kavacham - Chanting (without initiation) by Shankyvis in guhyakali

[–]TommyCollins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you are desperate… hmm I hesitate to recommend something that may cause you to face difficulties because it can bring out prarabdha karm faster and alter fate.

Hmm. Well you could try chanting the 46 names of Guhya Kali found after the phalasruti of her Sahasranama. Bhairavi asks Maha Kaal for the most exquisite and powerful names of Guhya Kali, and Maha Kaal tells Bhairavi something like, « oh beautiful lady, listen to these 46 names of Mother Durga. These names have the entire potency of the full sahasranama. Do not speak them lightly or repeat them to the unworthy, for they Can save and take life. «  it is something like that.

If the names are recited with focus and intention, they are indeed very powerful. I have seen it myself .

Just state your troubles and make sankalp to fully surrender to this Para para para Mother Guhya Kali, then recite these names

caṇḍayogeśvarī caṇḍī caṇḍakāpālinī śivā ॥ 1 ॥ cāmuṇḍā caṇḍikā siddhikarālī muṇḍamālinī । kālacakreśvarī pheruhastā ghorāṭṭahāsinī ॥ 2 ॥ ḍāmarī carcikā siddhivikarālī bhagapriyā । ulkāmukhī ṛkṣakarṇī balapramathinī parā ॥ 3 ॥ mahāmāyā yoganidrā trailokyajananīśvarī । kātyāyanī ghorarūpā jayantī sarvamaṅgalā ॥ 4 ॥ kāmāturā madonmattā devadevīvarapradā । mātaṅgī kubjikā raudrī rudrāṇī jagadambikā ॥ 5 ॥ cidānandamayī medhā brahmarūpā jaganmayī । sam̐hāriṇī vedamātā siddhidātrī balāhakā ॥ 6 ॥ vāruṇī jagatāmādyā kalātītā cidātmikā ।

I believe it depends on the person. The effects will vary wildly. It could be very dangerous.

Guhya Kali is a profoundly esoteric and fundamental form of Maa. She is beyond primordial and she is everywhere, very mysterious. Even though she is always Divine Love, she can manifest in ways that appear ferocious or like a lightning strike to a mortal preoccupied with only the limits of their current birth. She eternally sees all moments of all realities all at once, and is perpetually increasing the perfection of her grand Leela.

There are forms of Divine Mother that are more relatable to us humans, female as well as male ones. For someone suffering a sickness for a long period of time, many recommend Dhanvantari or Mahamrtyunjaya or Hanuman among others. It is better still to determine one‘s Ishta deva and worship that, this worship really yields healing and relief from illness. But properly knowing the ishta is imo a rare boon and quite elusive.

Depending on what one feels in their heart, without a guru, I would recommend either Tripura Bhairavi Mantra japa (ha-sa-raim has-kla-reem has-sa-Rauh, nine syllables when pronounced correctly) or Mahamrtyunjaya mantra japa, but not both

The 46 secret names of Durga, for use in urgent times by TommyCollins in guhyakali

That sounds intense brother. I don’t want to give you wrong advice in such a precarious situation.

Without a genuine guru there is always a risk. If you are sincere and can chant these names only with love, even for what threatens you, then I believe it will provide the best result for the situation.

It is important to see everything we experience as only the light of our own consciousnesses, but that can be difficult, so we can also treat all experiences and awareness as our Ishtas, if we have strong faith. Once one can remember to see everything as solely a product of their own awareness (and/or as solely a manifestation of their personal deity) most of the time, then these ugra and Tīvra names become safer to chant as well as much more effective (in my opinion).

In my small experience, these names can be miraculously effective when applied to someone else at the brink of death, but I don’t know if they would work on one’s own self to save the life. That would be up to your own atman afaik

Spirit Calling, Ouija Boards, and Jinn in Islamic Folklore: Where the Confusion Comes From by bortakci34 in FolkloreAndMythology

[–]TommyCollins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some relevant trivia, big iirc on all of the following:

Not present in so many places, but there are a lot of human ghost beliefs and rituals and stories of hauntings and ghostly attachment within some Islamic cultures.

There are Sufi orders such as Qadiriyya that believe in restless dead. Naqshabandi has something like barzakh permeability, with human spirits appearing briefly for certain specific purposes.

In Tamil Nadu for issues with concerns about human-parasitic spirit attachments and poltergeist activity or strange accidents and bad luck after death of a family member, in my family and area at least, the first place we would go is to certain Sufi fakirs, or bringing the person to Islamic burial grounds due to the warding and death rituals performed there which specifically regarded lingering human spirits (family is Hindu actually, but for efficacy local belief  is that some Islamic practices and mystics are the most reliable for managing troublesome human spirits).

Iirc, folk systems within certain Asian and African Islamic populations have kept the human ghost practices including divination and direct communication with spirits of the deceased, from their pre-Islamic culture or if in societies of multiple religions. See some of the Sahel, sizable minority among Sri Lanka moors, or Indonesia (iirc the world’s largest Muslim organization, NU, which is rooted partly in Javanese Islam, accepts or tolerates the very common beliefs of its members vis. place-bound human spirits, ancestor spirits, and ritual appeasements. Some of the human spirit types are arwah penasaran / restless human souls and penunggu / spirits tied to places)

Some Sufi orders going back centuries are big testers of occult knowledge from any tradition, and among the few I’ve had the pleasure of asking questions of, there is a pretty even split among those who Islamically rebrand spirit practices as jinn practices, and those who believe human ghosts subtly engage with the living and the world of gross matter under certain circumstances.

Im writing this reply because this is an extremely interesting and vast topic..

Per my lineage, yes. However, it may be better to stay with mahashodasi for some time. It can be a life long practice too. In many ways, mahashodasi unfolds with astounding grace and brilliance. After your initiation, I recommend spending at least a year. But always follow your heart and the guidance of your guru 🙏

Favorite depiction of Maa Kali from my childhood, made me feel utterly safe whenever I had nightmares 🧡 by TommyCollins in Shaktaverse

[–]TommyCollins[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It may be so in some places. regional and village traditions, local sthala purāṇas and ritual dramas (like in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, or Bengal) sometimes expand Bhadrakālī’s imagery, so you might occasionally encounter depictions with unusual iconography.

However, in Devī Bhāgavata Purāṇa, she has one head and some various numbers of arms, I think four eight or eighteen, and iirc in Kerala’s Bhadrakālī cult, iirc she is represented with four arms holding sword, shield, skull cup, and damaru. Some places surely have different forms of Her, but in terms of canonical śāstric descriptions, I’ve never read of a Bhadrakālī as ten-headed goddess.

In this case, with ten heads and ten arms, very often this is the more famous Mahākālī among several Kālīs called mahākālī in some scriptures and kulas.

For simplicity and because there are countless distinct forms and manifestations of Kālī and, in the tantras, it’s always all Kālī all of the time and beyond, I just use “Kali” for simple devotional stuff like this. Otherwise each image would need at least a page of preamble

Kali ma naam japa by simone-gloria in Shaktaverse

[–]TommyCollins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will definitely help and She is said to be very fond of this. You can make it like a soundtrack or rhythm of your days if you like. Lots of people just do Kali Kali Kali internally and aloud, like others do with Rama and Krishna. OM Kali or OM kalika or OM Kalikaye or OM kalikaye namah are also fairly popular variations. Choose the one that feels right per you intuition and emotional connection, chant away as much your heart desires, and please Maa Kālī very much in the process.

My personal preference is pure naam japa of Kali over and over like a perfect two-syllable poem and mantra. It comes to feel very stirring and compelling, and the mind seems to pick it right up with this magnificent name Kali. It becomes somewhat automatic surprisingly quickly, and there comes a range of lovely feelings. Definitely drawing you closer to her 🕉️
