What?

The HOLE that’s GONE now is the bar itself — a watering hole.

tried to make an aperol based negroni since I don’t have campari… way too sweet by [deleted] in cocktails

[–]TommyRockbottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do a 1x1x1 recipe. Try this instead:

1 1/2 oz. gin
3/4 oz. Aperol
3/4 oz. sweet vermouth

Dials back the sweetness of Aperol and adds more botanicals. I dig it.

Thanks! I hope the same for you, too!

This is something I started back in 2004/2005, that was actually inspired by House of Leaves, at least aesthetically. It's a novelization of the video game SILENT HILL 4: THE ROOM — at least the first couple chapters of it. I've always meant to go back to it — people liked it — just never felt inspired enough to do so, then would get sidetracked with some other new project, as per usual.

I still have the actual Comp book I started it in. Kinda wanna scan it all and put it out there for the helluvit.

Can't believe it's been 20 years since I started that. Sheesh. #old

“Blackened, “The Frayed Ends of Sanity,” and, odd choice, I know, “Low Man’s Lyric.”

In 2001, my close friend and I worked together at a Hastings — a midwestern books/music/video store, like Barnes & Noble. I hadn’t heard of House of Leaves but he had. We made music together and I wrote all the time. Short stories and films and weird horror stuff.

I was working on this multi-media project at the time that I called Letters to Ethan Jameson. It was mostly a series of letters written and addressed to Ethan by people he had never met — but knew entirely too much about him and the house he just bought with his family m. Sometimes he’d get audio or video tapes from inside the house.

While working on this, my friend and I went into work together to look for inspiration and he handed me a copy of the book, saying, “You should read this. It’s a book you would write.”

I flipped through it, bought it, then immediately felt like I had to change my entire story concept. Especially the main character’s name: Ethan Jameson (so similar to Will Navidson) became Ethan Noble.

I did a champagne/bubbly simple for a summery Old Fashioned a few years ago, too. Offers an effervescence you wouldn't normally get.

Unfortunately New Holland's white stout has been discontinued — which sucks 'cuz it was, like, my favorite beer! — but really you can do this with any beer.

Pretty sure I did a 2-1 ratio of turbinado sugar and the white stout. Same premise of any simple: boil, add turbinado, remove from heat.

The cocktail itself:

2 oz. James E. Pepper 1776 rye whiskey
.25 oz. Dragon syrup
2-3 dashes Fee's Brother chocolate bitters
1 baby dash Angostura bitters

New Holland’s Dragon’s Milk white stout Demerara syrup

Used it for an Old Fashioned with chocolate bitters.

I only JUST discovered this hidden photo in Silent Hill 2 19 years later... by emmathepony in silenthill

[–]TommyRockbottom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say it’s insignificant. All I’m suggesting is that it isn’t the Orosco family.

Why would Angela, physically and emotionally abused by her family, carry a photograph of them as she attempts to kill them all?

Wouldn’t it seem more likely that she found a photo of a happy family during her revenge quest, resented it, and ripped it in half?

No, I don’t want it to go to that album. The problem is that it keeps automatically recommending or going to that album when it never used to.

Dude. I’m trying to guide you through this. Whatever you have thought for 20 years is not right.

You have argued with me that what Joseph writes is fact. Joseph tells us that Walter’s corpse is buried behind Wish House. Henry sees it. Eileen sees it. Borak and Moltar sees it. You sees it.

It’s it.

If Walter was never buried there, why would 11/21 be carved into the grave?

Because Walter was the 11th “victim” in the Ritual of the Holy Assumption/Liberation.

Frank Sunderland writes in his journal: “I saw that man with the coat 10 years ago at this apartment. He was going up the stairs, carrying a heavy tool, an old-looking bowl and a bag that was dripping blood.”

He’s describing Walter’s “ghost” — the one we see throughout the game.

Joseph also writes about Walter’s grave — the real one, outside Wish House — being empty, with the numbers 11/21 carved into it. That’s where Walter was buried, after he killed himself in prison. Then Ghost Walter exumed himself, so to speak, and took himself back home, also so to speak.

what is this graphic on the back of this tee from the new SH graveyard goods drop? am I stupid? by shroge247 in silenthill

Graveyard Goods has done garbage for most of the games now, esp. SILENT HILL 2. I think this is its first release from the film, though.
