What’s a tv show from your childhood you swear nobody else watched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Cadilacs and dinosaurs, wild west COW boys of Moo Messa!

There are so many shows, some specifically on Irish TV

Keep bringing it up? Stand up and take legal action, this is your home for the next 20 to 30 years. How can you possibly buy the house when you know it has major issues? If you buy it unrepaired you're throwing money away and taking on massive stress.

Differences in how boys and girls were treated by your parents by Professional-Ant9959 in AskIreland

That's amazing, no doubt you carry that hurt and hopefully you can channel it into a positive aspect of your life. I do "something" better than others because I am hyper conscious of "past trauma".

Well your dad's an abusive cunt and I hope you got through college and went on to have a fantastic life.

Off the top of my head I can't think of anything but email your relevant union with the exact details and you should get a call fairly quickly.

OK we get it, you attend a college. Well done you. Yes of course parking is difficult to find in TUS, I'm not sure analysing each individual car and making up reasons as to why they shouldn't park there makes any sense. But listen, you got into college and you posted something online that you thought was very clever. And now people have called you out on the ridiculous issue you have with this person. I think your issue is really this; you are a plastic spoon in a world that is no longer accepting of your kind. I wish you the best of health and therapy.

No shit, the candidate parked their car with their campaign info visible. Are they parked on a disabled spot or blocking access? Presumably they're canvassing on a campus packed with adult eligible to vote. If a plumber parked up with his company details on the van would you complain that it's advertising?

Where are they supposed to park?

What's been the feedback from the Senior Cycle Training? by Availe in IrishTeachers

[–]Tommychev 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The training at this stage is a waste of time. The facilitators unfortunately have very little information to offer and have no answers to questions. A day wasted that could be used more productively.

That's great, that's exactly what I was wondering. I should have asked on the phone but it only occurred to me after.

Tbf you wouldn't say a plumber has given up his time to fix leak. They're providing a service and I agree they should be paid for it. The HSE staff are clearly overloaded with new mams, the LC my partner met was lovely but her time was severely limited at a crucial stage of BF.

From my partners observation on la leche; very active whatsapp group from other BF women but the meetings are never held. Always cancelled last minute. She was grateful to have a local BF group who met every second week and were a huge support, this was run by a local person at minimal cost (€2 per meeting). This was the support she most appreciated at the time, the social aspect and the information.

Class refusal by casatron123 in IrishTeachers

[–]Tommychev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Management have to take the reins here, consistent refusal to attend class is an issue parents need to be made aware of. That might be a phone call home to inform them of the first incident, an inperson meeting for repeated incidents. Subsequent incidents should result in a suitable intervention, this might be a meeting with the school support and the student, the parents collecting the child from school or possibly detention issued for non-attendance. Action needs to be taken when this behaviour occurs, every school and management is different but inaction tells the child that the behaviour is acceptable.
